My school is Aptakisic Junior High School and they help students learn and have fun. We have our own iPads to help us. These are very useful and it is easy to communicate and get work to teachers.

School building is Next to major power lines which I find extremely absurd. Cross-country practice/meets happens right under power lines. I can't believe district didn't try to acquire lands during real estate down-turn to build a new building elsewhere. Kids do like school and teachers look friendly. After-school activity/club variety lucking compare to nearby districts. And after-school activity bus seems to take forever. They gave kids IPADs with learning in mind and made them take those home and allowed kids install non-violent games on that device. If I wanted to attach my kid to more electronic devices, I would have bought one myself. I am all pro-technology learning but sending those home with kids is unnecessary step. Also, school should probably start green biking initiative like other nearby districts, adding volunteers to monitor major intersections nearby, not just the one across from school.

Its very small and all the teachers are mean. They are not very good at educating. They need to work on it.

Teachers here were very rude and most of them lacked the ability to teach. Almost all of these teachers work here due to connections (parents worked here, etc.). They need to hire some real educators.

In 2012-2013 Illinois used the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and in grades 4 and 7 in science. The ISAT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

In 2013 the Illinois State Board of Education raised the performance expectations for the ISAT in reading and math. These expectations have been adjusted to better align with the Common Core State Standards, a multi-state initiative that established year-by-year guidelines outlining the grade-specific skills and content students need to stay on the path to college and career readiness. The higher expectations of the new standards will result in a downward shift of where students rank in meeting or exceeding standards.
