St. Albert is a strong community where everyone knows one another and is very supportive. When you walk into the school, you get the feeling of family because everyone is so welcoming and helpful. All of the teachers are hands down the absolute best: knowledgeable, caring, dedicated, resourceful. Plenty of activities to join including three new clubs this year! I feel that my children are getting a superior education along with strong Catholic principles taught on a daily basis. Come see our school and meet our principal and I guarantee you will see the warmth, high standards, quality school that makes St. Albert the Great a unique place.

I am so happy my child is at St. Albert the Great because the decision was not very easy. My husband and I looked at a number of the schools in the area and this is the only one who gave us straight and honest answers. The principal gets back to us immediately when we call or email and has made remarkable improvements throughout the school. Our son s teacher is kind, patient and has made an impact on his learning. We are grateful for making the right choice and highly recommend this school. Great teachers, well behaved kids, and great leadership from the principal.

Having been a parent here for a while and always enjoyed the school, but last year and this year have been amazing. There s always something new for the kids such as all new clubs this year. The Development Board put on an amazing fundraiser Fall Fest with a chili cooking competition last weekend and the trunk or treat was awesome once again. My kids are happy, learning a great deal in a place that knows how to balance work and fun. Thank you Mr. O Rourke we hope you stay around for a while.

Until a parent in the parking lot pickup this afternoon told me about this review page, I had no idea. I had to write a review because I am so proud of our school. Hands down, this is the best school in the area. The principal has brought so many great changes very quickly, I can t keep up with all of it! Even while overseeing the flood cleanup that won t be finished until late December, he s managed to create a lunchroom/cafeteria space, be available to all of the parents after school, and any other time, and I even heard he played soccer with the kids during recess today. (My daughter said he was very good and the kids had fun). Really, our school has so many things to look forward to as we grow. My children love coming to school each day to a caring environment with teachers who really care. Every week I get updates on all the new creative ideas being brought to life so our kids can learn and have fun. I feel blessed to be a part of this school.

I absolutely love our school. Out of all the schools in the area, this one truly delivers producing well rounded, intelligent, service-orientated kids who excel in high school and beyond. The curriculum is challenging but extra help is always available. We looked at many schools before deciding on St. Albert the Great. Our decision came down to getting honest straight forward answers to our questions. Some schools pushed we have this fancy this or that without being able to truly speak about why they invested in such a program. The "traditional" academic feel I got here along with data that proved success for the students was import important fro me and my husband. Call Principal O'Rourke, meet with him and take the tour. You will walk away very impressed. I highly recommend St. Albert for all that they do for my kids and the other students too.

What a wonderful school! We are new to the school- transferred my third grade son from another catholic school and started my youngest in the preschool program and since starting school there I have noticed a complete transformation in both of my boys. My third grader, while he did well academically at his previous school absolutely dreaded going to school, that is not the case anymore! He loves his teachers, made friends on day one, and not once since starting at St. Albert's has he said he doesn't want to go to school. My preschooler is also loving school, is learning a lot, and has become extremely social. The environment at this school is great, teachers are wonderful and truly care about all of the children. The principal leads with great integrity and is constantly looking for ways to improve what is already a great school. All of the students are well behaved and respectful of each other-no bullying here! There is also a strong catholic identity at the school. My only regret is not having found this school sooner! Bring your children to this school, I promise you will not regret your decision.

I am a new parent to St. Albert and can tell you it is the best decision I made for my kids. My kids were not having a positive experience at their other school academically or socially. At St. Albert the teachers push the kids to do their best but are also available for extra help. My kids made friends right away and found acceptance from day one. The principal is easy to talk to, helpful, and an excellent administrator. Everything he told me about the school, from the academic excellence, to the dedicated teachers is true. My kids look forward to going to school each day! Thank you St. Albert the Great. This is such a wonderful school.

I don't know where to begin because there are so many great things about St. Albert. My 2 kids love going to school. The curriculum is rigorous but the teachers are always there to help. I know that my children will be academically prepared for high school. This is a gem of a school!

This school year opened with a Mariachi band welcoming the students and families. Last year, we had the Shannon Rovers. The Principal, in a word, is amazing; he cares deeply about the children. This is truly an amazing place. I highly recommend St. Albert the Great for wonderful-dedicated teachers, the safe learning environment, and leadership of our Principal.

St. Albert the Great is a wonderful school and my children can't wait for the new year to begin. The school has a great faculty - each take the time to work with students who need more help. The new Principal has done much to revitalize our school, he knows all the kids by name, and is always available...I hope he stays with us a long time. Catholic school choice is an investment...this place is worth every penny and then some.

This school is great. They provide a solid education and instill good traditional, catholic values in the children. While this school operates without any frills it does not lack at all in academics. I actually believe that it is the lack of frills that helps the children stay focused in school and to perform so well. I really appreciate the small class sizes and family atmosphere St. Albert's provides my kids. The diversity of the student body is also wonderful and everyone who comes into the school feels immediately welcome. The new principal has brought with him lots of hope for the future growth of our little school and my family is excited to be a part of it. I highly recommend St. Albert to anyone looking for a nurturing school environment with exceptional academics- you will not regret enrolling your kids here, I promise! Stop in and see for yourself you will immediately feel a sense of community.

Just enrolled my two children last week. We are transferring from another Catholic school - my kids had were having a bad experience. Already, I can tell we made the right choice. Both of my children had a "shadow day" where they were able to sit in classes, meet the students/teachers/Principal. My son and daughter walked out with new friends and are excited. The Principal is easy to talk to, answers all questions, and has been supportive in our transition. I have heard many positive things about this school, especially their academics - but also about all the new changes the first year Principal has made. Our family can't wait for the new year to begin. If you are looking for a great school, this is the place to be.

This school is great. The faculty and staff are incredibly professional . The teachers care deeply about the students and dedicate all their time to them. Classes are small and this benefits the kids greatly. Enroll your kids at St. Albert- you won't regret it!

We have been part of St. Albert the Great for many years and love the teachers. The new Principal is amazing! I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a solid education for their children on the south-side. And they lowered tuition, who would have thought!

Much needed new leadership has infused life and a strategic vision for growth at our school. St. Albert is and has always been exceptional with academics but the energy of the new Principal along with all the positive change he has created - in a short time - is welcomed and very exciting!

Both of my sons attend preschool at St Albert the Great School. The preschool program is Great! My 4 year old son was writing his name and was able to identify all the letters of the alphabet by the end of the school year. Not only has he grown educationally but spiritually also.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
