I just don't see how the positive reviews for this school are genuine. I sent my child here for one year, and I completely regret it, it made situations even worse. I found similar situations after doing research afterwards. Yes, it may be a good idea for 10% of the students, but from the amount of money that is spent on tuition, I would expect much more. I was worried from the beginning - as it is pretty close to the university in town. From what I had heard from my child, the staff is COMPLETELY different towards students as opposed to what they want to make you believe how they are treated. I have heard extremely questionable acts of how the children are treated by some of the staff. Do your research and don't believe the "positive" reviews you see on here, about how "simply amazing" Brehm is. You would think they would at least change their wording when writing their own reviews. My advice - DO YOUR RESEARCH.

Our son has been at Brehm for two years and after graduation enrolled at OPTIONS. They are both great supportive environments and have completely transformed our son. He is a proud, confident, and capable young adult. It has been a struggle at times, but he has come so far and we are so proud of him. We are so thankful that we have found Brehm when we did!

Brehm is one of the most unique places I have ever been. The amount of time spent with our child and the care each and every teacher shows to the children is inspiring. The social transformation in our child in 2 years was unbelievable. I cannot say enough great things. The adjustment was tough, this is just not a place to drop your child and forget about it, parent involvement and accountability is built into everything. Everyone is involved, while communications is sometimes difficult they are the best at what they do. They continually strive for innovation and push the boundaries and challenge the students and themselves. One of the more memorable things is they include parents, students, staff, and board members in their annual strategic planning. I have never seen another organization talk about what they are good at and what they struggle at doing with all it's stake holders and they consider everyones input when planning for the future!

Brehm is an amazing and innovative school, I enjoy being apart of an organization which supports it staff and pushes them to question and challenge everything. Brehm isn't perfect, it has its strengths and weaknesses just like any place. It isn't for everyone, and doesn't always admit the ideal student. However I have never seen Brehm just remove a student from program without extremely lengthy debate and concern. They always identify and make recommendations to parents and students to other programs that would be a better fit for them. They really do place the kid first, and they are willing to help and work with any family - enrollment not required. The knowledge my coworkers posses and their dedication is inspiring. Brehm's strengths greatly out weigh its weaknesses, but the important thing is the continuous drive to improve and never settling for the status quo!

Brehm is an amazing place that can help some one with a learning disability. I am a student at Brehm and have very few bad things to say about it. The teachers are great they and do a great job. The dorm staff are amazing. As long as you follow the rules and do what you are told you should have great time. The dorm staff, administration, and teachers have always treated me with respect. The curriculum is great as long as you are willing to learn. Brehm is not perfect but there is no other school that I know of that does what Brehm does. I have had a very positive experience there. I would suggest it to any parent who's child has a learning disability.

Brehm is simply amazing. This is a place where everyone truly cares about your child's success. Their holistic approach works when you thought nothing ever would. I cannot believe the level of academic success my child has achieved while there, as well as maturity...friendship...belief in herself...the list goes on and on. The sky is the limit for her now, and not only do I know it, SHE knows it! She loves school, which is something I never thought I would say. Her confidence level is a joy to see. They give the kids the tools to recognize and manage their "disabilities" and the tools and the path to success. Great leadership and an awesome "corporate culture" means everyone there is invested in your child's success. I have never seen a happier--and more committed--staff at any school anywhere. It is very much a family atmosphere. They are very responsive to your child's needs. They also provide an amazing amount of the great "fun" stuff...activities, recreation, sports, trips, clubs, art, dances...all the things kids want out of the high school experience. Do not hesitate to consider Brehm Prep for your child, you (and they) will love it. Thank you Brehm, for being amazing.

My child had a terrible experience at this school. We provided the school with a great deal of information regarding our child's strenths, weaknesses, as well as productive and non-productive approaches. This information was completely ignored, leading to our child being expelled, and no money refunded. Despite all this, the school continues to send us their fund-raising appeals.

This place is crazy. They kicked me and my friends out for playing frisbee golf. The staff was very rude to us. I felt llike I was in a cult while I was there. I do not recommend

Very poor curriculum and very poor staffing and up holding of the rules. I would not reccomend this school to anyone unless they want there kid to end up running with the wrong crowd.

Our daughter with dyslexia is graduating today from Brehm School! We were concerned about sending her to school in another state, but my husband and I knew right away that it was the right decision. The dorm parents and tutors bridge non-school life so well with all the other staff professionals at Brehm. She's made amazing progress with the help of so many fantastic teachers who care so much. The many professionals, individualized attention and family atmosphere at Brehm really made the difference.

My son has attended this school for all four years of high school. It is a private boarding school for kids with ADD/ADHD and LD. My son has multiple LD issues. Brehm has advanced his speech issues extremely well. They do not provide college prep nearly as strongly as we would like but have helped him learn how to unstand and compensate for his LD.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
