Cooperation is expected from the parents, yet the staff of the school are not reciprocal.

I went to golfview from kindergarden to the beginning of fourth grade. When I was there five years ago it was really nice but not that satisfying. I think this school is pretty poor academically and the principle really doesnt do much. But people are friendly. I give this school an overall rating of 3. The outside of the school enviroment isnt very friendly at all.

I have been very disappointed in this school. My child has been in this school for 2 years and I have found a great lack of communication. The most lack of communication comes from the principal himself. When a parent has a concern or problem that is going on within the school, he does very little to alleviate the problem when it is brought to his attention. I feel that the school has staff members that lack the experience needed to do their job. I have found that this school does have a few good teachers,in which my son did get one great teacher this year, if it was not for her my son would not be going to this school at all. I have found she is someone who cares about the kids. This is not a school for any child seeking to advance their academics.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Illinois used the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and in grades 4 and 7 in science. The ISAT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois.
