Lakewood has made a lot of changes in the past few years, including making it safe for our kids. They also are working in improving the work our kids do so it is more challenging. And they made AYP for the first time this year, too. I was worried about sending my child there before, but not anymore. I am really happy with Lakewood School!

The administration at Lakewood has an ambitious vision. They are creative and want to develop good citizens and character as well as increase academic achievement. They have made much progress in the last year or two.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Illinois used the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and in grades 4 and 7 in science. The ISAT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
