I wrote my last review in 2005 on Garfield school. It is now 2010, and the school is still awesome. We now have Mrs. Lutz there, and she is the greatest. She has helped my family sooo much, and I can never say too many Thank you's. I am soo excited about my littlest one joining Garfield next year with Ms. Marsalek, which by the way is a wonderful kindergarden teacher. We also have 1st grade Mrs. Miotk which my son has now. She is great, and I hope we have her for years to come. Also, second grade Mrs. Clifford, and her assistant Mrs. Anderson. They are also great teachers, and have helped my family a whole lot this year. We can never forget the principal, Mrs. Rodriguez, she is soo involved with the school, and soo passionate about her students there. I know my kids are in great hands.
Hi all you parents out there I am a 7th grade student at garfield. The school I go to is wonderfull.I like all my teachers, they make learning fun for me and it's really easy to understand the subject's I learn. I would recomend this school for every body .

dude i love this school!!! im in 8th grade right now and we get so many privallages and we are just like a real middle school. ms.dixon is the most wonderful teacher there
The principal is good, but sometimes alot fof the activites are uncordinated.
I just wanted to let everyone know about a very special teacher named Mr. Taylor. Ever since my son came into his class I have noticed a change in his attitude towards school. He actually looks forward to going everyday! When he was at his last school he never wanted to go. Mr. Taylor has a special ability.
My experience with Garfield has been focused on the new principal, Mrs. Rodriguez. I have never seen a more involved principal and a more energetic one. She is always available to parents, students, and teachers and is constantly on the look out for ways to improve the school. She was named the educator of the year for 2005 from South Suburban Area Project, a very active and involved community group. Further, she has managed to raise money for the school to get new screens for every room, to obtain a new P.A. system for the programs in the gym, and various other needed items in the school. She has also obtained outside playground equipment from her involvement with the National Council of Jewish Women. It goes on and on. District 170, especially Garfield School is lucky to have her.
One of Garfield Schools 4th grade teachers Mr. Taylor is absolutely wonderful! My daughter admires him and is eager to get to school on time because he makes learning fun. When I first met him I thought that he must still be a new teacher because he is so enthusiastic about teaching and I feel we have been blessed with him in our daughter's life.
