I love Grissom School. The new after school programs. The teachers are verry helpful. And the front office is verry welcoming. And also the principal is verry involved.

The teachers are very involved with the students. They are always thinking of fun & creative ways to help the kids learn new things. Awesome school and wonderful teachers.

The only disadvantage in this school is the over crowded classrooms (over 32 students in some classrooms). The teachers are great and highly educated which really makes the difference.

This school is in desperate need of more academic programs and extracurricular activities. I believe a language program would be an excellent addition to the school. The after school program they have is terrible. When I enrolled my child, I thought they would help with the homework. WRONG!! The students are expected to do it on their own even if they don't understand it. What's the point? Also, the lunches are terrible. I recommend bringing a lunch from home. The office staff can certainly be a little friendlier. My son has not had a gym uniform going on two years, why? because 'they haven't come in yet'.

Overall, I believe it is a good school. I just think that the principal and her office should be more on top of things such as dates that pictures will be returned, dates that candy orders will be delivered. When you call to ask the office a question, youy usually get an ' I am not sure, you have to ask the principal.' I think everyone in the office should be aware of what is going on in the school.

My son has special needs and we went through tough times to get an evaluation going for speech therapy among other things. It seems to us that the process time was delayed unnecessary while our son was getting zero services. From one evaluation to the next he was still getting no services. Calling main offices did not help either. Most of the blame came down on us the parents independent therapists and early child hood specialists warned us about such complex process and watch closely what the school is doing. Still, it seems that in order to get the most basic services, which my son is entitled to by the way, we have to keep fighting. My understanding is that its not like that in other schools. So, we plan on relocating to a better school district. By the way, my son goes to pre-k.

Grissom is a great place. The teachers are wonderful. You can tell. You can see it in their students. The office staff could be nicer though, they seem to go out of their way not to help you, but the teachers are great and very helpful.
