I am currently an eighth grader at Keller, and though I'm happy to be graduating, I don't want to leave. This school is amazing. All the teachers really care about the students. The principal knows everyone's name, student and parent. It's a small school, but that only increases the feeling of being at home. The whole school is like one big family. The curriculum is advanced, and can sometimes become overwhelming. Don't worry, though. The teachers are willing to take time out of their schedule to help the student with whatever they don't understand. Hopefully, I will be going to Walter Payton College Prep, Jones College Prep, or Whitney Young High. I also love the extracurricular activities. There are so many of them. This is definitely a great school for your children.
My daughter is now in 8th grade at Keller. This is absolutely the kind of school everyone wants their child to go to. The entire staff is amazing, they know each family personally. I was amazed at the level of personal attention given to not only my child, but to me. There is genuine concern about your child's wellbeing at this school. As others have said, it is one big happy family and it gets better as your child progresses through the grade levels. My daughter will go on to a great high school and college and will be very well prepared because of the wonderful education she is recieving at Keller. Every school should be like this!!
I am a new parent at keller with a child in the 1st grade. I love the school, 1st grade teacher, and the principal. there have been several activities at the school for students/parents that explain what the expectations of achievement are, how you can help your child succeed at the school, and resources that are available to the child/family. the school atmosphere has been very supportive (like one big happy family between teacher, students, and parents). the homework for my first grader consists of various subjects and projects that we work on. the language arts consists not only of spelling words and writing sentences, my child has to recognize the subject and predicates of the sentences. the reading component consists of identifying main ideas and recognizing supporting details. so I feel that my child is not just 'reading', my child has to actually comprehend the text. I would recommend keller.
I am a new parent with Keller and so far I love this school. They care about all of the little things. My son is having a great edcational experience and he loves going to school.
My daughter attends Keller and the teachers as well as the staff really show care and compassion for your child. When my child, or any child, gets a grade of an A the Principal herself writes a note on the childs paper and tells them that they did a great job. The principal and teachers are very involved in each childs life. The children has a sense of proud when attending Keller. The work that they give my child that is in the first grade is the same work that her 3rd grade cousin is working on, and her cousin live in Naperville. It is not enough I can say about Keller, but the whole staff is amazing and I love it.
I love my school, I'm graduating this year but I really don't want to leave. Everything about my school is wonderful. I want to thank the teachers and staff for making us into world class citizens. Love you all. Thanks.
I love this school. Everyone cares about me. My teachers meet with me on their own time, just so I can get extra help or more challenging work when I need it. I love going to student council meetings, poms, basketball, math, science , Spanish and lang. arts. My teachers make me excited about learning. It is the best school ever.
I am a new student at Keller. I like this school much better than my old school, Lenart Regional Gifted Center. At Keller the teachers, kids, and the principal are nice to everyone in the building and parents. Teachers go at a normal pace; if you don't understand a concept, they take time out of the lesson to explain it to the class. At Lenart lots of the staff, especially the principal, are mean to kids and parents. The curriculum is accelerated at least 2 years in all subjects. You might think that this type of school is good for your child, but it is way too hard and stressful for most kids if not all-even A students. It becomes horrible in 4th grade when you do departmental learning.
I am a student and I enjoy going here monday through thursday. The language classes are most effective beacuse my classmates and I get a example of what we are suppose to do and then we improve greatly.
The Principle, teachers, and parents at our school are very dedicated to helping the students strive to do their best. I've been very impressed with the teachers methods & efforts to make learning fun, but also challenging.
