Wonderful principal and assistant principal.....Principal demands excellence in and out of the classroom. Ran like a private school. Zero tolerance for negative behavior, and students must be in full uniform, neat and clean everyday. Parents are treated like guest entering a hotel. Well Done to the principal and her staff. She should be nominated for running a school with a program that prepares students for their future goals.

My youngest son attends Hoyne Elementary School and overall I think its a good school. But some of the textbooks need to be upgraded because some have been floating around too long to different students. Also, the school environment is safe but need more discipline actions for some of the students.

My children go to Hoyne Elementary School because they don't have a choice. My child is very bright and they don't have any classes to accomodate him. I missed out on the lottery for the magnet schools, they don't have any extra activities, and I don't know what they do with the money received from the Board of Education because I don't see any school improvements. The children are not not being challenged at all.

This is a school is a diamond in the rough. The principal works extremely hard to establish and safe and productive learning environment for children. The staff has worked to include more programs to encourage parental involvement. I think this school is definitely on the move!

This school meets the need of the average student. Unfortunately, there are no challenges for the above average student. The school's test scores are rising annually. Also more extracurricular programs are being added. Parents work and are not necessarily available for a lot of volunteering, but overall involvement is satisfactory. The school environment is safe with few discipline problems.
