This school is excellent in every way, We are in our 3rd year. Teachers are all very qualified, engaging, helpful, The administration, principal and vice principal are also very skilled and on top of everything. They have excellent audits by CPS, but miraculously are always out of the office in hallways and outside engaging with parents and students. There are many resources such as hearing impaired programs, and art, musik, science, gym, recess, etc , worked into the curriculum. Most of all, our child wants to go every morning, He wants to go early every day now just to get there and see everybody and play outside a bit. As far as CPS neighborhood schools, this is as good as it gets
Principal and Vice principal are very involved in the day to day operation as well as big picture goals, They set the tone of leaveing no stone unturned and manage well despite and top down CPS unpleasantries
I went to see the school and Principal gave me a tour him self! School is old but they do have new Anex coming in sept.
My kid were excited after tour and now we are looking forward to start a kindergarten!
I thing that this rating 6 is not good! This school had to have at list 8 on the greatschool rating!
I am a parent who made a call to this school simply to find out a little bit about the programs they offered, in particular whether they offer a low incidence cluster program for diverse learners. I was absolutely appalled at the way I was addressed. Complete lack of respect and courteousness. The tone specifically by the school counselor and the person who answered at the main office was about as rude and dismissive as you can get. I can't fathom ever sending a child to this school especially if you have to deal with the counselor even remotely. What a disgrace!
Our daughter is in kindergarten at Jamieson this year. Her teacher is an experienced and thoughtful educator and the principal is dedicated to the school and community. I am just so very pleased at our daughters experience so far.
