I was a student at Lafayette and I think it is a great school. People complain about their children being bullied but it happens everywhere and the child needs to know how to act towards their peers. Mr. Weible is one of the greatest teachers there, who always encourages students to do good and makes the atmosphere a very pleasant place to be in. As well as Mr. Ramos who encourages his students to suceed in life. I enjoyed my time at this school, wishing I could go back.
I'm a student at Lafayette Elementary, and soon will graduate 8th grade. I have to say this is a good school. Almost all the teachers really care about their students. Mr. Weible is the absloute best teacher. He cares about you and will push you to do much better. The after school programs are great, especially the music program which provides string instruments sucha as the cello, viola, and violin. There are also academic and sports programs as well.
This school is good. The students attention span is big . The teachers really care to!
Im a parent and I believe that Lafayette its a pretty good school thanks to the good teachers like Mrs. Guzman. I will say that she has been a wonderful teacher to my kids. She cares for her students to learn the right way. I give her a Plus
I taught summer school at Lafayette for two summers. The school has a wonderful spirit about it, but has a lot of work to do. They need to have more teachers that truly believe and respect the students, because this is the only way the students will accept the education and work at their highest potential. I have seen huge strides in Lafayette's autism department. They now have highly qualified, caring special education teachers. It's a wonderful thing.
Lafayette needs to improve in the parents involvement and zero tolerance. They have good after school programs. But plenty of bullying and that kills all the good that the school have. Also there room size are very large.. Not good ;-(
For a school with more than 90 percent of students coming from impoverished homes -- and having to deal with a persistent gang problem in the neighborhood -- there are some surprisingly good teachers here. But you have to pick and choose and get the inside scoop.
