the community involvement, the beautifully muraled hallways and doors, the dedicated staff
The feeling of community and the dedication of the teachers and parents to provide our children with a well rounded experience during their formative years!
I love the effective parent involvement and the committed, caring teachers.
My child befriend with fantastic kids. At least for girls, they share a lot of their life and concerns with sharp and smart perspectives. Their different paths meet at Nettelhorst and they seem to grow together very well without superfluous pretensions. The social life is well managed by the community they have created. Following Ms Kurland s efforts, is the extraordinary power of teachers who are committed to these kids. The great Ms Rodriguez and Mr Romeo. The power of Math and soccer of Mr Antesberger. The language arts of Holmes. And the great constant solid presence of Mr Soto. This is a place about people and people and people. You got to love it.
Because of the huge sense of community. It's a fabulous school and I am so lucky my child attendsA!
Unmatched parent involvement, commmitted teachers, beautiful school and facilities, great urban neighborhood school.
The diversity of the overall community is ideal. The transformation of the school from a inner-city dump to one of the city's premier elementry schools. The pride of the student body and parent group.
It's a great community where the kids get to see real people doing real things that actually help. It's exactly what you hope for them.
Great sense of community, the paretns are so involved. Great teachers in K-3.
Our granddaughter is leaning basic social skills as well as learning the three 'R's'.

Nettelhorst is a great neighborhood school in the heart of the city. The parents, teachers and administration work together to a common goal. There is a real buzz about the school. Our student test scores continue to improve. There is a great, diverse community at Nettelhorst.
Great environment for kids, parents, and the neighborhood! Everyone wins!
I it the best school in Chicago. The parents are veru involved, the staff is friendly and profesional and the principal is an awsome person!
We like the other parents that bring their children here. They represent many walks of life and we fell this type of exposure for our students is a great training ground for later in life. It helps to build their perspective of the world in more concrete terms.
