This is the the first year of both my children here. One is 3 and in pre-k, the other is in 1st. My son started 1st not being able to read. He never attended kindergarten and I was unsuccessful in my attempts. Within 6 weeks, he was reading small books and within 2 months, he was writing me notes. He has really taken off and loves his teacher Mrs. McCauley. He was placed into the gifted class because of his talent in Art. He was later placed into the after school Art program for 5th-8th graders. He is doing excellent in school. My daughter in pre-k, she will probably be reading before kindergarten. They have taught her all her letters and sounds. And can count to 25 already. Security is always around and monitors the children even during dismissal of after school. I really feel the staff take an interest in my kids well being. I love this school. I rated the principal a 3 as I have not met her and cannot say.

Parker School has had the courage to implement Workshop Way in younger grades. This is a wonderful way to teach chidlren how to learn, to think and to manage life! Congratulations, Parker teachers and principal!

Parker Community Academy School offers Spanish,Algebra,Gifted,Reading, awsome Art teacher,Beta Club, Community School, PAC,, and a Princpal who loves her student which means she loves her job and when ever love is invovled this means the student are being motivate and challenge and the students are going to strive for perfect attendance because they Know Miss. Giles keeps her word and the students will make every attempt to acheive and do their very best and this school has love.,All I say is my child is from Parker-Parker south side!!

This is my 1st encounter w/ this school & being that the school year has only just started I really don't have much to go on. But I will say that the principal has been very helpful & courteous. She seems to be very involved & enthusiastic about the children's education & general well being.

I am a teacher at Parker. It is a good school. The parents are out of control, which means the children are out of control. The teachers control what they can, but who is there to back them up? Remember, it takes a village.

The teachers at Parker that I have dealt with seem to be caring teachers, but the children are out of control. I think there needs to be more discipline at the school. The actions of the children in the school and on the play ground scares me. I will be afraid for my youngest child's safety once my oldest child is no longer there.
