I student taught at Near North Elementary and I was very impressed. Students with emotional and behavioral needs are unique in that each student is very different and there behaviors tend to be unpredictable. I thought that the staff did a tremendous job accommodating the student needs both emotionally and academically. The teachers were very positive and very in tune to the students. I had a very positive experience and learned a great deal from the staff and the students. I am confident that my experience at Near North will make me a better teacher in the future.

My son attende the school last year he was in third grade at the time. i was very dissappointed me as well as my son. It is where children w behavior problems are placed but not all parents show the same amount of concern. I had 2 very concerning incidents w/ the students and teachers. My son finished up the year and did everything possible to get out of there. My son has ADHD and it was very hard for him to deal w the change from a public school. Many of the kids parents that attend this school are not involved i for one am and that is why my son does not attend Near North any longer.

This school is basically where all children with behavior issues are placed. Parents do not care to discipline there children and administrators at the school dont really care either. They need to learn how to make parents accountable for their children's behavior.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
