Foster Park Elementary School provides a phenomenal education environment for students who are in preschool to 8th grade. It ensures that all classes support student achievement by focusing teaching and learning on the Common Core State Standards. Teachers use best practices by implementing guided reading, volume reading, the gradual release model, differentiated instruction, content reading and building vocabulary. In addition, students are provided the opportunities to learn via hand-on instructional activities, such as, Butterfly Extravaganza, Measurement Week, College/Career Week, Math and Science Night, Saturday Academic Enrichment Program, Afterschool Supplemental Education Services, Math Enrichments Periods, Morning Tutoring, Multi-Tier Systems of Intervention Service and Technological Programs. Foster Park Elementary School monitors students' progress through weekly classroom assessments, NWEA MAP District Benchmark Assessments, ISAT, Performance Task Analysis and Illinois Alternate Assessment. Data is utilized to focus teaching and learning. The Foster Park Elementary School's Parent Advisory Council, Local School Council and Staff are vested in student learning.
