I have two children who have been attending to this school for 3 years. I am very happy with the results. The math program is outstanding, my son is in 2nd grade and learning multiplication, in a fun way. The teachers are always there if we have any questions or concerns. The principal is one of the nicest most caring person towards children and parents, she checks to make sure that classes and parents are all doing well. Her doors are always open for parents who have concerns and is on top of things. The 3rd grade teacher is amazing, she likes to keep in close contact with parents. I am very happy with the results, coming from a public school, where my children did not learn very much. My son learned to read and write perfectly in Kindergarten, where as my daughter did not learn that at the public school when she was in Kindergarten. I highly recommend this school, it has been the best desicion I've made regarding my childrens' education. Thank you St. Hyacinth!

Very frustrated right now with this school. All the nice reviews seem to be formulated from Ms. Flores to promote marketing purposes. No direction or Math book in 2nd grade? How do you hold some students back while teaching others to write their ABC's? How and why are they in that grade to begin with? Really considering pulling child out and sending them to St. John Berchmans. At least there you get a Math book for your $200.00 book fee. Then again I pay the whole tuition without government help so maybe it means nothing now a days...

Don't be fooled by the ratings here. St. Hyacinth has changed dramatically for the better over the past two years. The staff is dedicated to providing outstanding lessons. Class work seems to be more interactive and memorable. The enrollment has gone up quite a bit. There is a true sense of community, especially with students working together - not just in their own grade, but between grades too! Although it is troubling to hear about the violence taking place in CPS, St. Hyacinth is a safe, caring, and nurturing school.

I have 2 children currently attending this school. I could not be happier with thier acedemic scores. I think all of the teachers are great and compassionate. There have been many great changes to the school this year. They have expanded the children's learning experience. I am glad we found this school!

This school is top-notch in academic quality. They offer smaller class size and students at all levels (advanced to remidial)have opportunities to grow at this school. Sylvan Learning is offered at no additional cost to those students who needs assistance with reading through Title IV funds. Classes in later grade are broken up between regular and advanced. My only critisism is lack of parent involvement and more extra curricular activities for the lower grades. This may simply be a problem of needing to enrollmore students though. If we hadn't moved away my child would still be here.

My child went to pre-school at St. Hyacinth and it was a huge disappointment to me. The teacher did not seem to have much patience - she was concerned that my child was not coloring completely in the lines. She was only 4 years old. So she was not very patient with the children either. Their aftercare program was also a disappointment. The children did not have enough activities or space to keep them occupied. I just let my daughter finish off the school year and registered her in another school where she did much better.

I actually was a student here and I will say that the main thing they concentrate on is religion. I'm am class of 1999. I left with little knowledge in math. The english teachers were good especially Ms. Markowski. She embedded things in my head that I still know to this day thanks to her. I feel however that they charge to much. I don't know how things are now but they need to fix the math section. Besides that the majority of the teachers are good.
