My family loves this school based on its academic curriculum and teacher student ratio. Our children feel safe in and around the school. Teachers demonstrate their kindness through individual family attention. I can't see my children attending any other school.
St Florian School has been serving the community of Hegewisch for almost 100 years. It is not uncommon for the same family to graduate four or five generations from the school. Besides having an active sports program, the school excels in its catholic traditions and religious education. A small class size helps to maintain the highest level of scholarship. While other Catholic elementary schools are dropping in enrollment, St. Florian's enrollment numbers continue to increase. The school has exceptional parental involvement. The Parish community also is very active in school activities creating a warm family environment. The addition of the new principal, Terry McKenna along with the continued efforts of Father Jim has resulted in a strong cohesive parish school.
I think that St Florian is a great school and I can see how the Faculty works hard and really cares about all the Students in the School. I am amazed at how many students are excited about going to school.
