This school has been completely revamped. A wonderful new principal has taken over who has raised standards and is well on her way to making this one of the best Catholic Schools on the Northside of Chicago. Enrollment is already up and they are actively implementing many improvements. The kids are happy, the staff is happy, the parents are happy. OLV is a very unique family oriented school!

This school has an absolutely wonderful preschool program with exceptional teachers, appropriate discipline and a caring environment. However, past that, the academics are sub-par, the teachers biased and there is absolutely no leadership. It's a shame that parents are led to believe that exceptional educational standards continue past the pre-K level.

It is such a child centered school with loving teachers and principal. This school is struggling to stay open and is doing the best job they possibly can. They are very progressive in terms of Catholic schools. My children just love their school

I have been very please with Our Lady of Victory. My child is excited to go to school, loves her teachers and her classmates. While my daughter is a lower level student I find the upper class students very friendly, respectful and pleasant, which is often difficult to say for many children that age. I feel this reflects the school and their influence and teachings. I feel welcomed and a part of the OLV community. Everyone works hard and works together in providing hte best for al lthe children.

While other schools next to it are shrinking in size, Our Lady of Victory School increased its enrollment by 7% two years ago, and it maintains its enrollment this year. This increase in students happened despite an increase in tuition. How could such a thing happen during a recession? It is because of the strong commitment of the OLV parish, and the school's parents and staff, to modernize and provide the best educational environment possible. On May 22, this school will celebrate 100 years of serving the Northwest side of Chicago. My family will be there as OLV begins another 100 years of success bringing the Good News to Northwest Chicago. It is unfortunate that anyone feels the need to express frustrations anonymously, rather than meeting with people to resolve any problems. I encourage everyone to meet with the pastor or the principal if there are issues.

Great all-around elementary school...standardized test scores much higher than national average, opportunities for sports (track, b-ball, v-ball, cheerleading, etc.), music (band, choir), clubs (mass crew, student council, martial arts), and teaches the discipline and respect for self and others that's often missing in public schools. My kids love their school and parent involvement and pride is very high too. 2nd year principal is improving the school every day and creating more opportunities for the students to excel which is a wonderful thing.

This is a Catholic School where discipline should be expected. OLV offers a faith based education with many opportunities for extra curricular activities. Free sports, band, art club, rosary club, Mass Krew, chorus just to name a few. The art program is very good-just take a walk in the hallways to check out the kids work. The new principal is great.

This is my son's first year at Our Lady of Victory. I am very impressed with the faculty and other parents at this school. My son has slight special needs. OLV has made accomodations and is willing to help my son academically. OLV is also enriched with many extracurricular activities. They have music lessons, a great basketball team. The parents at OLV are so involved, informative and helpful.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
