I went to St.Barts along with my 3 children. My children had a great base at St.Barts. One is currently a English teacher, one a lawyer and one a nurse!! They were taught great morals and have a very strong work ethic-I Believe St. Bart's put them on the track to success

St. Bart's only cares about certain type of students. They also think of themselves as one of the best schools in the com, unity. They are very arrogant and obnoxious both the faculty and students

Who better to give a review than a student themself! I have been educated at St. Bartholomew since preschool. I now am in 8th grade and I absolutely Love it. I would never imagine going anywhere else. The teachers are always there to help you when needed. In math we are already doing Algebra 1 and we understand it pretty well. The sports program is fantastic! The teachers enforce good grades while at the same time you can fun. They also encourage you to do the best you possibly can. In the classrom everybody is a friend to everbody not because we have to but because we want to! Anybody who rates my second home a star below excellent I wish to talk to you.

My older child graduated from St Bart s and continued on in a highly sought-after college preparatory high school. He progressed to college and made it to Champaign. I strongly believe that his early years at St.Barts helped him tremendously and I am extremely gratified. My 2 younger children are currently at St Bart s. I have trust in its tradition of excellence in early child education and formation. Thanks to the faculty and administration for their vocation in enriching our children s education.

I love St. Bart's; it is our second home. We are parishioners; my husband graduated from there; and our two children attend. The whole-child approach really shows in the way they integrate religious instruction, physical education, cultural celebrations/instruction and art, science and math into each enriching day. Our children are safe, which is also a real concern in Chicago. The teachers truly care about each student's self-esteem and academic achievement. Children build upon their basic skills to develop a strong foundation for learning that will take them to higher education with ease.

This is school not only provides a quality education but is a wonderful caring environment. Parents are actively involved in the school and in the community. Children have plenty of opportunities to learn outside the classroom. My son started here in the 3rd grade and he loves it here! His classes are challenging, he participates in sports and truly enjoys his science class.

We love St. Bart's! We moved into the area about a year ago, and went to the open house for the school. It was like coming home. Every parent we talked to raved about the school, and the students were all polite and respectful, in addition to well-spoken. Needless to say, we enrolled her this past fall, and we have watched our daughter flourish in the Montessori preschool. The teachers and administration are always available to us, the academics are perfectly suited for the development of the students, the school is enriched with the arts and sports, and the parent club is strong. We recommend this school highly!

I have two children who went to St.Barts. My daughter went here for 2nd and 3rd grade and loved it. My son went for pre-k and kindergarten and also loved it. I was happy with the school and would have stayed there but we had to move out of state and that is the only reason we left. The teachers there are very caring and it shows. I searched many area catholic school but found this one to be the best.

St. Barts is a really great school. The montessori preschool program is fantastic. And I have had nothing but good experiences. My oldest is in 4th , I have another in 3rd and my youngest is in Preschool. All my kids have gone here from preschool on. Academically I think it is right on track with other schools. Our new principal is great, and has a lot of qualities that our beloved Ms. Kolberg possesed. My husband graduated from here as well, and it is definatly in our 'blood'. We have a nice music department and art program. Sports is great, in fact we coach one of the basketball teams. The families and parents are great here. Check us out

My fifth grader has been enrolled in the school since preschool and she has thrived in the close-knit environment. The school has a strong academic focus and also incorporates a good sports program. Standardized test scores have been good for the past several years and the teachers are focused on allowing the kids to learn and discover. In one class, the teacher explained to me that the kids were interested in math beyond their grade level, and since they had mastered their ciriculum, he taught them more math skills than expected. The Montessori pre-school is a hidden gem. The price is far below that of other Montessori's and made a huge difference in the confidence level of my older daughter, and now my daughter that is going through that program. It is run by certified Montessori teachers. The children leaving this school will be well prepared for high school and beyond.

I have one child that has graduated and is an honors student at St. Patricks High School and on that is currently in 8th grade that has tested at both Resurrection Hight School and North Side Prepretory High School. St. Bartholowmew's academic preparation has prepared both of my children to lay a very solid foundation to meet the rigors of high school and higher education as well.

We have two kids there for the last two years and it has been an extremely positive experience. The mostessori school was great and now they are in the regular curriculum. They made the transition from montessori easy with a gradual change while they were still there. The only drawback I can come up wioth, and it's a strech, is that there is no grassy playground, swings, etc so most things are done inside.

I have two daughters that are currently enrolled at St. Bartholomew and one that will be entering in the fall. I absolutely love the people at St. Bartholomew. The parents, the teachers, the curriculum and just the values of how the school is ran is high up on the 'list'. Our principal won the distiguished principal award last year, and she deserves it. She is wonderful! I would highly recommend this school to anyone in the area looking for a great school for your kids to grow with. The montessori preschool is absolutely wonderful. That was the selling point for me when I was checking out schools a couple years ago. The older grades also impressed me, I knew this was the place my children would attend all through grade school.

What makes this school so successful is the parent involvement and the dedicated teachers. I have one child currently enrolled and one that has graduated. They both enjoy school and look forward to it. Thanks to teachers and Principle of St. Barts!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
