Dr. Rucker is someone I can never forget at this school because I have never met anyone more unreasonable than her (others would agree with me--staff and students). She is not a good person to say the least and she is a director of education there; that says a lot about the leadership at ASA. Personally, I think this school should be closed. I have never been in a worse school in my life but maybe in that part of the city (Cicero and Madison) and in the place that used to be a bar can't be any better school. I had to write this review because the ratings here are so misleading. This is NOT a good school. Teachers are okay but the leadership is deceptive and not good at all.
I am a former graduate of 1992 and thanks to the Academy I am no more a stastic of a high school drop out.Because of the academy I was able to make something of myself and not only that my son graduated this year as 2008 valid victorian at A.S.A..This school is not just a building with students but a second chance of not only a family you thought you didn't have but an education that you thought was inconcievable.I have and always will recommend A.S.A. to young adults and parents who both deserve a second chance.
I attened this school and I think it saved my life, I was going down the wrong road and they reaaly helped my get myself together
I am a former student at this school and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a second chance at their high school education. The classes are very small and it allows for a lot of that one on one time that is needed for those who have dropped out of school and have been out a while. They also have all the things (i.e. Prom, graduation and sports) like a regular school, just on a smaller basis.
