I give high marks for Park View. My daughter was previously at a Catholic School and it was much larger. She was bullied relentlessly. The teachers and principal were a part of the bulling. They convinced me that she could not long. In addition, my mom went to the school for me and all the white students stared as if she had two hears. One girl from the region around India started screaming and crying while pointing to her. It was if no one in that school had ever seen a black person up close and they all only wanted us to go. We left and went to Park View and the atmosphere was fun, accepting, and friendly. The grades began to improve and in time she started getting A's. Go there, they are nice, warm people.

My son has attended Park View Lutheran School for the past three years and is getting ready to enter into his fourth. I could not be more proud of him and his achievements . He absolutely loves it there and actually looks forward to going to school every day ! His grades are excellent and I credit that to not only the teachers but to the small class sizes. Teachers have the time to really pay attention to their students and their needs. I highly recommend this school to any parent who wants a quality education for their child or children. They have made a tremendous impact on my son and I would not have it any other way . Thanks Park View !

We came from CPS after several bullying incidents and failing grades. We came to Park View because it it a safe, secure and compassionate environment. My child is now comfortable and his grades have improved tremendously. They have taken us in with open arms and it feels like family. VERY CARING and the answer to my prayers!

My children attended Park View in 2012 and 2013. Given our experience, I would not recommend the school to other families and we have chosen to pull our children out of the environment. Given the guidelines of this community, it is difficult to share all of the factual information that other parents should know before enrolling their children in this school. What I can say is that I now know that it is important to have a full understanding of if a school is licensed and whether it follows state guidelines. My children's safety and security are of utmost importance to me. I feel that I can find an environment where I will have more assurance that those tenants will be put at the top of the list at their next school.

Three years ago I took in a foster child who academically was very far behind his peers, I had doubts he would ever catch up. He had been passed around and around and was not enrolled into school until he was 8 years old. Even though he was far behind the other students, I entered him into the 4th grade at Park View. At first it was tough, he struggled. If not for the loving environment and caring staff I don't know what I would have done. They have encouraged him to be much more then he ever thought was possible. He comes home from school chattering about everything, and then some, of what he learned in school that day. He has gone from a child who would say nothing to a child who talks all the time. His self confidence has increased ten-fold since he's been at Park View and he's gone from getting failing grades to being on the honor roll. His standardized test scores have gone from 1st grade to 8th grade. He'll graduate next year and be more than ready for high school and college. This could not have happened anywhere else but at Park View. He is so thankful that he is at Park View and so am I. Thank you Park View, you are a true blessing.

My 7 year old has been at Park View since she was 3. Started at Summer Camp and knew right away that it was the place for us! There is such a sense of family that I can't imagine any other school providing. My child gets a hands on education and I have never once worried about bullying. Now that is a true asset!!! I would totally recommend Park View to any Chicago parent. The Lutheran education was recommended to me by a Montessori school owner and she was spot on!!! My goodness...high ranking children, hands on staff, wholesome handmade meals, amazing new friends, a truly loving environment...I simply could not (in any way) ask for more for my child and our family. Thank you Park View and God bless!!! xoxoxo, A VERY Proud Park View Mommy

I have been parent at Parkview Lutheran school for the past 5 yrs. My oldest son started preschool there in which the great teachers at Parkview and the small class sizes are amazing. The kids are loved and respected by classmates and staff alike. I have never encountered any problems there. Both of my children love that school and never want to come home. If you are a parent who wants to be involved in your children's education this is the place for you. I love the fact that I personally know who is dealing with my child. I would recommend this school highly...

I am a parent who has been a part of Park View for over 14 years. Park View is a great family orientated school and church, there is nowhere else I would ever think of sending my two children. I see a great deal of respect, and professionalism from the staff and most parents. My kids go to school and summer camp here and never want to leave. The small classes are great for challenging my child where he is advanced and helping him get caught up where he is lacking.

Park View is like a family! The small class size lends itself to more support and creativity. Our children not only get the academics, but there is dance class, sign language, and for the older children they have fencing. There is a service component to the curriculum that I love. I want my kids to be moral individuals and they support that at Park View. The staff is tremendous, the families are personable and thoughtful, and most of all the children are happy! I am parent who is extremely satisfied and highly recommend Park View Lutheran School!

This is just a great little school with small classes, plenty of individual attention, and a loving atmosphere. The principal and pastor greet you at the door every morning! My two children love to go to school every day. It is very strong academically, and the small size allows the teachers to be very creative. It has many of the advantages of a larger school, including a music program, art, computers, science fair, a lending library, plenty of field trips, and a community service program, but everyone will know your child by name. We are very happy with the education my children are receiving at Park View.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
