CPS could learn a lot from this school. So glad I pulled my son from CPS and found Jane Addams HS. Wonderful. A++

I'm glad my daughter attended this school because they always gave my daughter the attention and support she needed and didn't get from the Chicago Public School. My daughter has grown into a better person by attending Jane Adams.

From my experience at Jane Addams the staff is very supportive, unlike my old high school the teachers at Jane Addams actually make sure you know how to do the work, and make sure you understand it.

JAHS is a great school for the opportunity to graduate from high school and get it done. I am glad I came here and I like the way it is so far. I feel like I am ready for whatever is going to challenge me in life, and I know now that I can achieve anything I want or dream of being.

This is a 5 star school for sure. Just walking in you get a sense of how disciplined the students are and how caring the staff is. But the best part is seeing my daughter bloom at this school. She now comes home with books and homework almost every day and talks about her day at school. She never did that when she went to any of her past 2 high schools. Everyone there is so professional and I thank you all for how much you have helped my daughter and me.

My child really got lost in the crowd at the bigger high schools. The individual attention and support has really helped her make a turn-around.

My second youngest started there last year. They are well organized, friendly staff and fantastic teachers. I wish I knew about his school for my older children.

the knowledge and skills that I get behind the high school diploma cannot ever be replaced or forgotten, especially when you come from a great school like Jane Addams.

Jane Addams made me successful. The teachers and staff give me individual attention if needed. They know us by first name. They are more like a family to me and they want me to be the best I can be.

I then begin to realize that the teachers, the staff and the principal really did care about me and my education. I never was in such a good environment until I came to Jane Addams High school. The teachers stay after school with me to help me with whatever I needed help with, and tutored me if I need it. The focus here at Jane Addams is for everyone to graduate and become someone in life. They focus a lot on reading and math here at this school.

When I first started at Jane Addams, she told me not to feel bad because it would only help me to improve my skills. From that moment on, I knew that JAHS was the best choice and place for me. I started to think that this could be a good thing. Being a part of Jane Addams gave me skills and I learned something about myself-- I tend to ask for help when I really don t even need it. Jane Addams has been a really good for me because they took their time to help me improve on skills like my vocabulary, reading and my math.

Throughout my years in school I have learned a lot, but even though I have spent the least time here at Jane Addams, I think here is where I have learned the most. At Curie I did learn small things, some of which I knew but the rest I just never ended up understanding, and so didn t actually learn anything. Here at Jane Addams I was able to comprehend more and learn a lot, mostly in writing and English, which was a subject that I was never able to learn or pass. I am happy that I ended up here, I feel that I am more prepared for college than I would have been if I had just graduated from Curie.

Jane Addams for me was the best choice because it was in the neighborhood and it gave me hope for a high school diploma.

Jane Addams has helped me because the teachers help me when I don t understand something. I have really changed a lot thanks to this school. I used to be lazy and didn t do my work at all, now I do it and I have good grades. Before, I never wanted to come to school, but Jane Addams has made it so fun that I don t want to miss anything, so I have perfect attendance, too.

Jane Addams has really taught me to appreciate my education and most importantly, love it. The teachers in this school definitely push me to do better and thanks to them I ve accomplished so much. Everything that I learn here I know I will need in the future. My family and friends have all pushed me to do better as well, and hearing my parents say I m proud of you is a huge step into anything else that I set my mind to.

What I like about Jane Addams high school is that the teachers actually take the time to break the problems/work down so you can get what you re doing.

I appreciate all of the JAHS staff because they gave me the chance to complete my degree. At first I was surprised because it s like a totally different world at JAHS. It s not like a traditional high school that I was in before. The small classes at Jane Addams help students to express themselves more. Students here find their own way to lead better lives. In Pathways class we are able to explore career opportunities. Students at JAHS have their own thoughts, and they act the way that they like; they are allowed to express themselves and their needs at JAHS. Teachers listen to what the students want and help them to achieve their goals in a better way than my other high schools did. At JAHS I started to understand that there is no real definition of good or bad because people at JAHS show me that we are all different and special in our own way.

They have helped me achieve what I couldn't do on my own and made me grow up ALOT. I know so much more in every subject than I ever hve. Great environment. There is no struggle unless you make it a struggle. If you do what you are suppoed to do, you will have no problems. The person who wrote that the princpal doesn't care is just a liar. Probably did domething stupid and got in trouble for it. For good kids, this is a great school. I love this school. I wouldn't ever graduate if I didn't go here.

I this school because the teachers take time to get involved and have great communication with parents. Their first focus are the students and parent communication. The staff makes it a point to get me involved, answers all my questions and make it a priority to get me involved which I appreciate. Small classes and I like the environmet. Its a bright and lively place.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
