My daughter is in kindergarten at erie elementry. I am very satisfied with the outsome by far. As a single parent. They offer great after school care. The after school program is open on days that are 'holidays' and during winter and spring break. So no need to find a last min babysitter while i work. There the kids are able to go on field trips and explore different thing. Nd they stay open till 6pm ;)....I am very satisfied with the school i choose for my daughter.

Erie Elementary Charter School stole our heart and our daughter's at first sight. Steps from our Humboldt Park home the school offered my daughter whose first language is not English a nurturing, challenging environment to learn. Pros: Small school, more one on one, parent coordinator in house, after school care in front of the school for a decent fee, great parent community and unbelievably caring teachers and staff.

Erie Elementary Charter School was started by Erie Neighborhood House in 2005. The teachers there are all highly qualified with Master Degrees, and the teacher aides all have BA's. EECS is a community where students, parents and teachers work together to develop children who are confident in their culture and ethnic origin, bi-literate in Spanish and English, achieve academic excellence, and firmly placed on a path to higher education. The school will soon be offering music, currently they offer judo and a homework club after school. The Parent Leadership council meets every second Tuesday of the month to discuss their children's education and other important goals. The Principal is highly qualified individual and all of the children know her and she knows there names. The classrooms have no more than 21 students per class, brand new computers, which is integrated into their curriculm.
