I love DeDiego because it's a school that has been in the neighborhood for years. As an alumni class of 96, it's great to have a school thats like a second home. The teachers and staff are wonderful and have been since I attended some time ago. My daughter is a second grader at DeDiego and I couldn't be more pleased with the education she is receiving.

I love Jose De Diego School because the teachers there go above and beyond to make sure our kids have a productive and fun loving school. They keep the kids motivated and eager to learn. I have a first grader there and she absolutely Loves it there. They offer so many programs there. Thank God for Jose De Diego School!!!

My daughter has attended Jose de Diego since pre-school. She is now in the 6th grade. She loves it there. I love that they have advanced and gifted classes, among other great programs for the students.

I love Jose De Diego Academy because it is a school that provides a quality education for the diverse population of students that attend our school. Our staff reflects that diversity which allows students to identify with a positive and successful role model at school. The staff is dedicated to providing the best education to each and every student each and every day. We, as a school, live up to our motto of "Being the Best We Can Be".

Jose' de Diego really is a community. Students, parents, teachers, support staff, and administrators collaborate to provide a safe space with rigorous instruction. Students have opportunities to flourish academically, creatively, and socially. I really enjoy coming to work! :)

I love this school because, the teachers that my daughters have come in contact with are awesome. I feel this school has great potential if they were given what is needed to make progress, such as educational materials & funding.

The principal, staff, and teachers, really care about the students. The school may be big with over 900 students but when you get connected and get involved in the school it has a family feel. Its a very clean school, and carries a spirit of exellence. You really feel and know that your kids will succeed and they will be encouraged to do their very best by everyone there. Our family loves Diego and will continue to support the school in any way we can. We truly feel that our kids can "Be the best that they can be" at their school.

I have worked in and with Chicago Public Schools for over 20 years, and I have been impressed consistently with the emphasis DeDiego places on the "whole child", providing a wide variety of learning experiences and opportunities for positive self-esteem for children with different learning styles. The inclusion of family and community also is an important component of the school's philosophy and values.

We are like a family. All the staff know each other & the parents & kids by name. The teachers are amazing and truly care about our kids. They go beyond expectation to secure a great future for our kids. Our school is primarily lower income families & a lot are living check to check working so hard to provide for their families & a lot of times parents do not have time during the week to spend time w/ their families & when week ends come they might not have the finances to splurge & take their kids out on the town... So our school's NCLB has taken the initiative to set up family field trips to different parts around our beautiful city. We set up field trips to museums, shed aquariums, Navy Pier ect...ect... Any place that the parents vote on. Everything is taken care of & parents do not have to worry about paying to go to these fun, exciting & educational places. The buses & all are paid for in full & the parents & kids can go out as a family & not worry about any additional expenses. We pride ourselves in bringing families together & teaching parents to better communicate & build a relation ships w/ their children. As you can see our school is not just about targeting our kids education but also about providing & re enforcing the proper tools that parents need to build a healthy family life. We care deeply about our kids & will do what is best for them & their families. This is what makes our school unique & so so special. This is why I love our School & winning this will be a great boost for our school to go beyond & continue to provide for our students & parents.
