Public schools with aftercare

I am looking for a good public school with aftercare so I can save on the fees I pay to the local park district. My kids only attend the aftercare in the local park district for 3 hours a day and I pay over $200.00 a week, they are 5 & 6 years old. when their public school is closed the aftercare charges an additional $40 for that week making it well over $265.00 for that week. Any suggestions?

Have you talked to your school about other childcare alternatives that might be less expensive? If you're happy with your school, that might be the easiest option.
I'm not from Chicago, but there are few options for children as young as yours. Our school near Los Angeles offers afterschool care for children 2nd grade and up, but it's considered a permissive program and children can leave at any time (that's the reason that smaller children aren't allowed to stay). And they're not open when school is not in session. I've never heard of a free afterschool care program that actually is in session when the kids are out.
Another option would be to talk to a mom with children at your school and see if she is wiling to take your children with her afterschool. Many moms of younger grade kids with even younger siblings at home would welcome a little extra income in exchange for watching your kids.
