Coal City High School

Our experience has not been good. Lots of inexperienced teachers, students treated with little respect,very limited course offerings,very cliquey. Heavy emphasis on sports,not alot of other types of extracaricular activities (very few dances,limited theatre,no dance programs.) High school is in need of expansion, library area very poorly equipped. We were looking for a smaller,friendly community with a nurturing environment in the school system and that is not at all what we feel we have found. Also school report card grades should be much improved...our schools are in the state average range pretty consistently.

Coal City's High School Speech Team has put out a very creative and comprehensive newsletter, even if it is not totally PC. I appreciated its creativity, which helped me understand what is going on when my own students don't tell me the details. Thank you for your free expression!

We used your invaluable service to help decide where to move recently. We cannot tell you enough how pleased with our choice. We could not have picked a better high school for our daughter. She just loves it and we do to! We also have children in Coal City Intermediate and Elementary schools and are equally happy with our choice. Thanks again.
