I attended CHS from 2005-2009. The class sizes were great, and I felt like I received a great education. I was a participant in the AP program, and I feel like we had special treatment. Our classes received the most funding and were able to have experiences that "regular" classes were not granted. Many students who did not take AP classes were simply happy to graduate, and did not care about their grades. Fighting was abundant during my first two years at CHS until Mr. Flohr came. He is wonderful and really turned the school around! Overall, I wouldn't trade my years at Collinsville High School for anything.

Collinsville High School cares about their students and faculty. They try to provide everything we need in order to graduate and make our life better. Mr. Flohr is the best principal that CHS has ever had! He is just one of the teens. He is spunky and loves all of us students like we are his own. I love Collinsville High School and I would not want to go to any other school.

I love Collinsville High School because of all the programs that are available for students academically. The students have so many different classes they can choose from whether they're interested in child development, welding, auto body, construction, accounting, business, etc this school gives students an opportunity for students to get hands on training on many fields and make it easier for them to choose their career that they are interested in before going into college.

CHS is a large school with lots of diversity among students and staff. We have tons of school spirit, and numerous clubs, sports, and organizations to get our students involved. The staff here is dedicated to making a difference in each and every life they touch. Kids like coming to school here, and staff like coming to work here. CHS is truly the High School of Champions!

My oldest daughter graduated from Collinsville in 2007 and received a great scholarship to U of L. She was very involved in High school with Student Council and basketball. My youngest daughter is currently a sophomore at Collinsville where she is in Student Council and plays basketball and softball. Both my girls have had some really great teachers at Collinsville.

The principal, Mr. Flohr, is awesome. He has an infectious enthusiasm for the school and is respected by students, teachers, and parents alike. Besides his leadership, strengths of this school include the many advanced placement courses and the diversity of the student body. My daughter loves the fact that she is friends with kids from so many different backgrounds. Teacher quality is generally good, although can be hit and miss as with any school. We considered a private school and are so happy we chose CHS.

I love CHS! It is a great school with a lot to offer! It is true that they lack a little bit in the math department, but things have only improved since I've been there. They have a wide variety of AP courses offered and many graduates go on to do wonderful things! The music program is AMAZING! If you want you child to be in what I would consider a fantastically challenging program, here it is! The band director is top notch and you'll never regret putting time into the band program. They are one of the finest in Illinois and the St. Louis area! I strongly approve of Collinsville High School!

The instrumental music program is one of the finest in the St. Louis area. CHS offers more Advanced Placement courses than any other high school in the metro east St. Louis area. The school is much better than the reputation it currently has in the St. Louis area. The areas where most improvements are required are in the math and science departments. CHS enjoys a fine area vocational senter and offers programs in welding, automotive repair and auto body, machine trades, health occupations, law enforcement, and many other areas. I am a CHS graduate, as well as my parents and children, and am very proud to have been associated with the school.

My daughter graduated at the top of her class and is now attending a major university majoring in Engineering. She also took honors classes in math and science and was able to receive scores in AP to achieve Sophomore status upon entering college. Parents and Students - you get what you put into an education. If you want to achieve and excell at CHS, you can. As anywhere, some teachers are better and care more than others. Our opinion of CHS is positive and certainly there are things that could be improved.

I'm not a parent...I just graduated in '03. Let me give you a little advice about this school. If they want to learn anything in math...good luck...because not one of those math teachers know what they're talking about. Take it from someone who went through four years of that school...The highlights of this school...the bowling team, and marching band. Those...were the only things we have to brag about. To all those at CHS...get out of there as soon as you can.
