This school is amazing! They have great teachers who work with not only your child but with you to make sure your child succeeds. They have a wonderful math program that allows your child to be advanced or get more help without interfering with their grade level. I would recommend this school!

Holy Cross has been a blessing to our family. Our son has been there since Pre-K (now going into 2nd grade), and each year has been great. The teachers and curriculum are first rate, and the friendships that have developed as a result of Holy Cross has provided our family with an important support community. We highly recommend Holy Cross to any family looking for a solid Christian school.

Our teachers are dedicated to the overall development of our children. Reading, Math, and Music are strong components. Saxon Math is used. Music lessons are offered and children have many opportunities to play and sing. The environment is relaxed enough to make learning enjoyable and children feel connected, but learning is well structured. Christian faith is well incorporated and internalized by the children. The benefit of having a school attached to a church is the sense of community or family children feel through the presence of multiple generations and members of the local community. Our son just completed first grade and scored very high on national tests. The first grade teacher is wonderful and really instilled a love of reading . The school has experienced some transitions in administration, but next year, we will have our Peabody Award-nominated teacher step into the position of Principal. We expect the school to be even stronger. WE LOVE HOLY CROSS!

Holy Cross has been an important part of our family since we started attending when our oldest started preschool. The balance between play and academics in the early years is just right. The rules are consistent and clear and enforced in a firm but loving way. The dedication of the teachers and staff is truly above and beyond and Christ is at the center of the curriculum, guiding the entire school. The staff and teachers of the school know each student and value them for the person God is shaping them to be. Because the classes are small, there is flexibility for many learning styles and differing abilities. Music lessons (like piano and violin) are offered during school hours! I have had the pleasure to meet many other Holy Cross parents and find them to be among the most dedicated I have known to making the school an overall success!

No question - the best teachers you could ask for. My oldest is going into 2nd grade and his pre-school, kindergarten and first grade teachers have been truly amazing. My kids have loved every minute and have learned so much. The teachers are very nurturing and the environment is so warm. They are able to make learning fun. The school also makes a great effort to get involved with the community, too, so kids get to participate in community events from a very young age: writing to shut-ins, assisting at a local soup kitchen, performing (violin) at local events. Very blessed to be part of the Holy Cross family.

We are so happy with Holy Cross School. We started there six years ago thinking we would just try it out and we are still there. Two of our children have now graduated 8th grade there and were so well prepared for high school. The parent and teacher community is great and there are many extra-curricular activities for them too. Price is reasonable and there are scholarships available. We are so happy we chose to put our children here.

We have had a great experience so far at Holy Cross. We started in pre K and are still there 5 years later. I work part time and have put myself out there and found my niche as far as volunteering goes. Parochial schools can not run with out help from the parents, but you meet new people and become more familiar with the staff/parents this way. The education is great and the music program is wonderful esp. strings! Loving environment!

I have one child in Pre-K and one in first grade. We couldn't be happier with them there. Both love school. It has a good teacher to student ratio. All the kids know each other. Even my Pre-K'er know the names of the older kids. We are truly pleased with the education they are getting.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
