My two kids 5 and 12 attend speech therapy, and both of them are very happy with their teacher/therapist. I am always updated on their progress. Could'nt ask for a better mentor.
This is a very good School. The principal ,staff and teachers are very caring, they response to parents promptly .They have extend the school area for KG and other classes ,very nice rooms and above all is their standards for education are highy admirable. My kids are studying their in Kg and 1st grade and they are doing good ,as per expectations.
My son is in the Lasec program at Richland. I personally love this school. Everyone is always helpful and they are really involved in his education and therapy and I am alway kept up to date on everything.
the administrators and teachers in the upper grades aren't willing to work with the parents of children with either health problems or mild disabilities
I happen to think that the staff at Richland is doing the best that they can to accommodate the growing population until the new building is completed. I must compliment the staff, especially Ms. Barth. She has made so many adjustments in her classroom for my child, and she kept me updated on her success throughout the entire year. Trust me, when you come from a school district that ignores the individual needs of the students, then you become very grateful for the teachers that Richland employs. These teachers have my respect and gratitude for providing my child with the best education possible, even if the law only requires an appropriate education. All the teachers, especially Ms. Barth, should take a bow and remember that your students will help build a better future!
I have a student in Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th grade I think the Principal and the teachers have done a wonderful job. I know it has been hard since the student population has grown
When I bought my home my daughter was 3 and I checked out Richland and was pleased with the results. By the time my daughter entered the school we had a new superintendent and the school had gone down hill fast. The communication to parents is almost non-existent and during emergency situations complete chaos. They expect all children to be on a level playing field with their education and that is impossible.
I have a child in 4th and 8th grades in the 2006-2007 school year. I'm very impressed with the teachers and the curriculum. This is my kids 3rd year here and they have made friends and are doing well. I wish we would've moved here much sooner.
Richland has beendoing a good job of keeping up with the growth of its student population to an extent. The buses are now full and cannot accomodate new band students in the 4th grade level to be transported to school only one morning a week. Also , their website is never updated. It doesn't have current activities, open house dates and times, lunch menus, or teachers stats and staff contact info including e-mail addresses. My son has no computer class this year(4th grade) unless they are working on a special project. Last year he had it for one hour a week on Mondays only.We all know how many Mondays teachers have off for holidays. The teachers are great and are trying their best in spite of the shortfalls. They improved the lunch menu to include 2 choices instead of one but do not accomadate food allergies by providing soy milk, etc.
* No letter or Phone call stating, where or what time the bus would pick up the children. * No letter was sent home stating that the 1st day of school would let out early. I got a phone call from my daughter telling me she was waiting for someone to pick her up in the office. This has been a HORRIBLE experience for my daughter and I . We moved from the city to have a better life and in hopes of a better school as well but I think I made the wrong decision. I might have hurt my daughter more than I realize.
