Crystal Lake Central High School

I owe my life to Crystal Lake Central. I am a university student now, happily on my way to graduating with honors, and I owe it to CLC. The teachers, the programs, the whole spirit of the school taught me that school can be a home away from home. Crystal Lake Central will always be in my heart, I can't wait to teach someday and do just what CLC did for me.

Without a doubt the best highschool experience for me as a parent and my children. Tremendous attention to detail yet with the freedom to allow children to grow into adults. Great athletic and musical programs as well as a broad range of business, science and math programs for kids to choose from. The parent and community support is unprecidented.

I am a big fan of Crystal Lake Central High School. My oldest daughter has attended the school the last two years and has had nothing but a positive experience. They offer fantastic classes for them to choose from. Wonderful staff that helps the students and gets them involved. From the first time she stepped foot in the school back in 8th grade, just to pick her classes, she was excited to attend it. Great parent involvement. A real home town school !I'm so lucky to have her go to this school.

We love Crystal Lake Central because our son loves it. His high school experience has been far more positive than anything his father or I ever experienced. There are so many opportunities for the kids at Central, no matter where their interests and talents lie. If you want to be an involved student, you can be! Plus, it also says a lot that the teachers love to be there, too. On parent night, every single teacher we visited started off by telling us, 'I have the best job in the world!' This shows the high level of involvement and dedication the teachers have toward the school and its students.

It is not the stereotypical high school! We have virtually no cliques and each class is it's own big happy family. We all come together and have THE BEST spirit around without a doubt!

My daughters go to Crystal Lake Central High School and it is a wonderful school with great academics, music and activities. I couldn't pick a better school for them to attend. There is a very warm and welcoming atmosphere at this school.

CLC has an excellent curriculum, mostly very qualified instructors, reasonable disciplinary policies, and loads of extra-curriculars. While CLC students may score slightly lower on standardized tests than those in neighboring high schools, CLC has a very economically diverse population, which the others do not. CLC does need some work in the areas of recognizing and dealing with learning disabilities, and of teacher communication with parents. District 155 was extremely slow to put in place a system to permit parents to view their children's current progress online. Now that they finally have such a system, they need to teach the teachers to use it, and to require them to use it. My four children attended CLC; the last one graduated in 2008.

My brother and step-sister graduated from here in 2005 and 2007 & thought it was the best school around.

Currently, I have 2 students attending CLC. This school has truely educated my children. It's not just the outstanding academics. It's the community behind this school that sets it apart. The parents, the teachers, and the students make this a school that accepts diversity and insists on involvement. CLC is a pillar of the Crystal Lake community having been in the community well before WWII. The legacy lives! Tiger Pride!

Where's to start with Central? The students have much pride and the extracurricular activites are outstanding. Each student can feel comfortable here and lears a lot from the teachers. Each teacher gives attention to every student and helps them through their struggles. There are many AP classes aswell. CLC is honestly one of the best things that has happened to my 2 daughters and son and has prepared them well for college and their future life.

Crystal Lake Central is a phenomenal school! It encourages everyone to be themselves, and provides all the proper resources for a student to achieve everything they are capable of. Tiger Pride is another fun part of central. IIT'S everywhere!!! and it's contagious!

My two children graduated from clchs and both received an outstanding education, had great friends, wonderful experiences with sports and extracurricular activities. Both of them have done extremely well in college due to the great preparation they received in high school. This is an outstanding school with enormous Tiger spirit and pride!

Most any central student will say they are proud to be a tiger and wouldn't have it any other way, myself included. Central also has a very wide range of courses to take and so the education Ive recieved has been extremely interesting from working and car engines, to taking photography class to engineering and still fitting in calculus and physics. Go TIGERS!

This is our first year at CLC and we are thrilled with the staff, the academics, the athletics, and the extra curricular activities. Our student loves going to school this year and is challenged by his teachers to learn each day. The pride of students is tremendous and shows throughout the school community. When I drop my student off school I am overwhelmed with the display of orange and black apparel going into the building. The students take great pride in their school and it shows.

Crystal Lake Central is the best school in the district. As a honor's student there, I have found the classes to be engaging and well planned. We are not well known for our athletics, but we do have great connections between one another. Central does not have any cliques and everyone seems to get along. Diversity is not only accepted, but encouraged. The music teacher is great, the art classes are inspirational, and the sports are competitive while still maintaining an enjoyable feel. The parents and community are very involved in Central. I have had a great academic and social attendance at Central and I wouldn't change a thing.

CLC is by far the best high school in McHenry County and is definetly the best in District 155. My student goes to CLC and loves it.
