This school is a very good school, but there is a lot of classism among kids. Also i have noticed favoriteism among teachers, were wealthier kids are treated as class pets and others are simply set aside with passing grades. Another thing I have noticed with my daughter is the kids are not frienly to her and look at her as if she doesn't belong, for example when Iwalk to the park and her peers are there, no one waves or says "hi" to her they stop and stare and whisper to others.

Shepard is a really great school that has the good fortune of being in a wealthy neighborhood, but...with that comes bullying and classism. Two problems that need to be more closely monitored. These kids need to know there will be consequences for this behavior as there seem to be none at home.

After sheparding two children through ABS Middle School, I can say with confidence it is lacking in integrity and quality. This is a school that is unfortunately in the decline.

Overall an excellent school. The teachers are great and the technology and facilities are probably the best for any public middle school in the area. The school is transitioning to a more varied system that offers challenging "seminar" classes, so students in the future will be very well prepared for honors in high school.

Shepard has many different activities available afterschool to help students be involved, meet other students, and learn/practice a skill. Everything from bowling to philanthropy and all the standards. My son's (7th g) teachers have been very supportive, patient and willing to assist before or after school as needed. They are responsive by phone, email or appointment. We're looking forward to next fall with my 5th grader starting. The principal and assistant principal know ALL the kids and are an active presence through out the school, before and after as well as lunch period. The kids respect them (other staff as well) and appreciate the acknowledgement.

Shepard is a great enviorment for all students. Shepard prepares us all for High School, and other life lessons. Shepard is the best middle school ever.
