All four of my children have attended this school. Much to my chagrin, after my oldest sone inital kindergarten year, Franklin has gone from bad to worse, since Tobin Mitchell left as prinicpal. If there were a way to have sent my children to any other school in the district, I'd have done so. If I were a working mom without the time and ability to police the school daily, I shudder to think of how my children would have fallen through the cracks.

This is my sons' last year at Franklin, and I really hate it. This school is just the best in academics, music, art and overall staff support. Over the last 3 years my childs' knowledge level has increased. He is performing above grade level in bothe reading and math. Franklins' leadership from Dr. Roberson down to the clerical staff has been amazing. If every school had the stamina that Franklins' staff had..there wouldn't be any children left behind. I wish everyone could experience this school through the 12th grade. It has definitely provided Malcolm with a great foundation that will be used for the rest of his academic career. For the first three months of school my son's class did not have a permanent teacher. Finally about the end of October they found a teacher but I believe her qualifications should have been checked. She constantly called the children names such as hollow head, and stupid. When the Principal was notified about these situations her response was always that my child needs to tuck in his shirt during school hours. Maybe it's me but I can care less about a tucked in shirt if my child is being insulted by their teacher. I don't know what happened but I recently found out that my son's teacher has now quit teaching at the school. It has now been at least one month and my husband and I have not been notified by the Principal. Some Leadership.

I am extremely pleased with the progress my daughter has made at Franklin school. I think that the principal has increased parent participation, which is and always will be what will encourage your child.
