It's a school where teachers still have a passion to teach and lovingly instruct our children in their academic goals for them.
Because the teachers, principal and ALL of the staff truly do have the kids best interests are heart and are willing to go to unbelievable lengths to assure your child gets the BEST education possible!
DGS is a wonderful school. The principal greets every single child by name at the front door every day. The curriculum is advanced, so children learn more. We previously lived in the Chicago suburbs and faced many challenges in those schools including a lower-geared curriculum and bullying that teachers/principal did nothing about. DGS does not allow bullying or other behavior issues that could impede the learning process or the child's enjoyment of school. This school is fantastic!
My three Children have attended this grade school, the middle school and high school for 8 years now. The whole district has been a very good experience compared to the other schools we have attended. Dunlap Grade School has wonderful, caring teachers, office staff and a great Principal as well. The parent involvement in the district is very good! This is a great area to raise kids. The schools are well maintained and much cleaner than most school we have visited for the older kids sports events.
This school has been a God send for our family. The teachers here are top-notch, and show true concern for your child. My son has ADHD and struggles with reading and writing. They wasted no time setting him up with an Individual Educational Program (IEP) that has helped him improve dramatically. His test scored are now higher than his non- ADHD brother! His teachers go above and beyond the call of duty to keep me informed and to help him succeed. I would reccommend this school to anyone. No need to spend the money on private school if you live in this district.
