Our son has attended this school for a year and half. He could not read when he started 1st grade, and could not write well. He could not spell at all. After 6 months at Immanuel in 1st grade he could read and write at least the alphabet. Now, in 2nd grade, he received 4 B's and 3 A's on his report card. We were told by the public school system that he would be placed in special ed. Here, at Immanuel he has more than excelled, he has come into his own. The teachers and principal are wonderful, caring people, that go above and beyond. I highly recommend Immanuel Lutheran School. Angeline Lee, parent.

We moved to the area two years ago and found Immanuel Lutheran school. My oldest started preschool there and we plan on sending all three there through 8th grade. The head of the PK program there is the definition of the wonderful preschool teacher. The KG teacher is so experienced, I feel she has the school year planned out to the 15 minute increment. The student teacher ratio is much better than the public school and my son loves school. I also enjoy the other parents and their level of involvement.

I have contacted the school to discuss what steps to take for when our adopted 13year daughter arrives in the USA in 6months. As of now I have had multiple discussions with teachers and the principal. I am thrilled to say that the attention I have been given for my future child has been exemplary. I look forward to having our daughter attend a school that has so much concern for her well being, fit and education. I appreciate the attention given well in advance of her arrival and the anticipated multi level education plan for her. Due to a language barrier that may hold her back in some areas such as reading/writing and the possible advancement in math/science where she will be ahead. I highly reccommend this school due to the extraordinary attention I have already received.

Dundee Immanuel was recommended by a friend of our family and at first I was skeptical of the benefits versus the cost of the tuition. I have since been very impressed with the attention, support and care my daughter has received by the teachers, staff and even the other families. There is a genuine spirit of community among the families. I don't know how their test scores match up against other schools but I would expect them to be near the top given the dedication I have seen from the teachers and staff. I have recommended Dundee Immanuel to other families.

Immanuel Lutheran in East Dundee is a wonderful school! They have such caring teacher's! The parent's seem to be very involved! It's like 1 big family! The fact that it's a Christian environment really makes the kids seem to be concerned, loving and supportive of one another!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
