This is my son's first year in high school and I did not want to send him to East Side. I did not think that he would receive the necessary attention children need in prepping for college. Although there is not a lot of homework, my son shows knowledge of different things and events on a daily basis. I am also ecstatic to know that the teachers have been teaching for years. Some were my teachers, ie Mr. Shaw (chemistry @ LSH). My friends also speak very highly of other teachers that I am not familiar with ie Ms. Joyner. I am so pleased thus far with this school and I pray for continous growth and expansion for this wonderful school. There is something positive in ESL and Charter School is one of the most positive things in this area.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Illinois used the Prairie State Achievement Examination (PSAE) to test students in grade 11 in reading, math and science. The PSAE is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
