You that posted on march 1, 2007 are probably one of those people in this town that are the important people. Everybody from this town knows exactly what I am talking about. Either you are related to a school board member, a teacher or someone that has money. Otherwise, all complaints are ignored or even told that the child is lying. It is absolutely frustrating. I have also switched my child to west side school and am extremely happy. Unfortunately, my child was bullied so badly and for so long that my child now needs counseling for being abused. Shame on you to the teachers and principal.

I would totally disagree. I have a child a South Side and I have nothing but praise for his teacher and the principal. I have had to call the principal twice about issues and she jumped immediately on the problem, getting full details, followed through with correcting the problem and then followed up with ensuring the problem was taken care of. The only bullying problems that I have seen have been immediately handled and rectified, although I realize that this is only what I have witnessed. I am sorry that your experiences weren't as great.

Wow, I had the same problem with bullies at this school. I moved my child to West Side and no longer had problems. Even though the schools had the same principal, the difference was at West Side school the teachers handle bullies on their own instead of involving the principal. Which I found this to be better because the principal did no sort of intervention in the bully situation at South side school.

South Side is a wonderful school. I am very impressed with the staff. They all work so hard to do what is best for each and every child. The A.R. program has been a wonderful motivator as well as many of the other computerized programs. The only concerns I have are that the playground is not enclosed and my son has complained about the lunchroom supervisors.
