Kaneland School District is behind the ball so to speak in regarding current best practice. 'Everyday math' is lacking and students do not master the basics, but have a little knoweldge of a lot. Leadership at all levels needs to be progressive and have vision.

We moved to Kaneland three years ago from St. Charles. We are very impressed with the school as a whole. I feel my children are getting a much better education at Kaneland. I know people think that the grading scale is too stiff, I think that it makes kids give it their all to 'earn' their honor roll status. I know numerous graduates of the other local districts that were straight A students in honor classes only to attend college to find out that they are average students at best. Most kids will do just enough to get by, especially when they are bright and it comes easy to them. My children work hard to get their A s. Reality is that if you are a C student, in other districts carrying 70 and 80%, you are failing at Kaneland!
