St. Edward Central Catholic High School

We, had two kids at St Edward HS. One a basketball star, was shown a little to much kindness; And dropped out with a fifth grade reading level, thank you St. Eds Tuition well spent. The Second, Is Graduating today. His whole HS time was spent on accedemic probation, we were told at a meeting before enrolment that he would get the extra help he needed. Well that never happened. He did make it to graduation by the skin of his teeth, so he will be able to attend the college of his choosing, however the list of community colleges is short. NO HELP, NO EXTRA ACTIVITIES, NO NICE MEMORIES, GREAT SCHOOL!!!! I WOULD SUGGEST THIS SCOOL TO NO ONE!!!!!! IT IS A TRAP, ALL BROKEN PROMICES. THOUSANDS OUT THE WINDOW. PS the kid that graduated today is a good kid. He just strugled and they did not provide the little extra help he needed.

The teachers are very dedicated to teaching and helping students. There is great communication and feedback with the teachers. The school is wonderful at communicating with the parents and students. Any issues that have come up were addressed quickly and fairly. My son is happy to go here. The parents work hard and the school staff works with them to make the school a Family. There is a wonderful sports program also. The school tries to meet the needs of all the kids, regardless of interests. They are continually is upgrading programs/classes to stay current, provide new opportunities and educate the students.

I have had two children attend St. Edward; one graduated in 2004 and the other is currently enrolled. I find the teachers very dedicated and qualified, the students respectful, and the parents involved. These are key ingredients that make a school work successfully. One comment mentioned no AP classes as of 2004. Despite that fact, my son who graduated in 2004 placed out of 3 college courses. Presently there are AP classes at St. Edward as well as extra academic support for students that may struggle to keep up with the curriculum. Though the facility is not fancy, the administration is constantly working toward its improvement as well as advancing the use of technology in the school.

The quality of the education is very high at St. Edwards. The facility is lacking, but pretty classrooms and swimming pools don't help gpa's and ACT scores. My child has highly experienced teachers and is going to be ready for college when he graduates.

I don't care what anyone says. If you want your child to receive a great education and to enjoy their high school career, then send them to St. Ed's. It's a great school with great people. I was one of the few African Americans who attended this school, and I still made great friends and received a great education. If your a parent, then take it from someone who has already graduated from this school: St. Ed's is a great place to send your kids, and if you want them to receive a great education from some very intelligent people and to enjoy their high school years while there at it, then send your kids there because I promise you that in the end they will not regret it and neither will you. To all my Kaironians: Live the fourth, and Go GREENWAVE!!!!!

after sending two of my children to this school and with the benfit of hindsight I must say I would not send my childeren here again. the school has difficulty keeping up the faclility. it seems to be a very under funded. parental involvement seems high. generally kids are good and this is what helps keep this school going. this school could be great but needs the help of the community and the dioceses - unfortunately, it seems to continue to be ignored.

St. Edward High School is where friendship begins. There are three skills that are possessed by the students: Academic, Athletic, and Achievement. Here at St. Edward High School there are many classes to chose from and gets you prepared for college. I highly recommend this school.

While St. Edward CCHS provided a safter alternative to public schools in the area, it hardly served as a 'college prep school.' Due to lack of qualified teachers and pre-college (AP) courses, students are no better or even less prepared for college than their public school counterparts.
