This is our first year at Salt Creek and thus far there are a number of positve things going on (1) the principal is very involved and (2) seems to be aggressively working towards improving the school's test scores but they seem to be more concerned with PBIS (behavior) than academics. You'd think the kids were at one time behaving like hoodlums. I've seen no evidence of poor behavior, all the kids seem to be very well behaved but if they paid as much attention to grades they'd all be scholars. We came from a private school and unfortunately I'm not really improessed with this school it seems average at best - all around. Nothing great nothing bad.
Only been here for 1 year (kdg). I think it really depends on the teacher. The teacher seems annoyed by my child's special needs. Be careful if your child has an IEP, make sure you bring an advocate to every meeting.
I have 2 children enrolled at Salt Creek and they and I both love it. It is very clean and safe. The teachers have gone above and beyond to help my son read. Excellent school.
Salt Creek is a wonderful school for education. The students are all encouraged to get along, there is a zero tolerance for bullying, and the parent involvement is strong. The school is clean as a whistle, beautifully lined halls with children's artwork, bright, cheerful, sunny windows, and locked doors. Classroom participation is required by the students and they are encouraged to help each other. Some centers are used for learning and advancement in groups. Aid is available for those that need it in specific subjects, and advancement classes as well. Clubs are many before and after school for extra curricular activity. It is a great school with great teachers, staff, students, and parents.
