People need to remember that Fox Lake used to have the most bars per capita in the state of Illinois. Maybe that's why the schools are so terrible. Stanton school isn't even remotely preparing their students for high school, let alone college. The kids get no homework! When I questioned the superintendent about this, he told me that parents had complained that they don't have time to help their kids with homework. My elementary school child gets more homework than my junior high child. Stanton graduates have a rude awakening coming if they ever attend a good school. If you like Friday "goof off" days, then this is the school for you as there seems to be a lot of them. Some staff is OK, some is terrible with many very young teachers trying to teach an overwhelming amount of Fox Lake riff raff. Consider private or home school before Stanton. Better yet, don't move to Fox Lake at all. Unless of course, you love to drink.
I go to this school and it is the best school in the community, well i think it is. The staff is amzing and the principal and the vice principal are the best. The office and PTA try their hardest to give us feild trips and other activities. I love this school:)
Excellent staff and administration, Principal Lomas has left our school in great shape, with a very bright future and in the very capable hands of Mr. Sefcik and Mr. Peters. Great improvements to the school this year, I am happy my children attend this school!
This school has very limited financial resources, yet the teachers start clubs, run sports, and really care about the students. I am especially impressed with the effort the new wrestling coach gave this year getting grades up and coming in for extra practices. We are very lucky to have him!
4 out of 5 for teachers, principal and staff-they are wonderful! Facilities, however are outdated, small and need some TLC!
Stanton School is fabulous. My child has been in District 114 for 6 years and each year I am amazed at the level of professionalism of the teachers and administration. The principal at Stanton knows every child by name (and some parents) and offers inspiration, direction and assistance to all! As for the teachers, they are the best! Very involved, caring and helpful at all times. I love their unique ways of teaching. I am very impressed with most of them. They go the extra mile to help students and/or involve them in extra activities to further develop their skills. A low ratio of students to teachers provides a great learning opportunity. Plenty of extracurricular activities. This is a first class school-I refuse to move out of this district!
