Since the school year is ending, I feel compelled to impart a few thoughts about one of the best teachers that a 5-6 year old child can have as her kindergarten teacher. I am talking about, who children know fondly, as "Mrs. Penny". She is the kindest, sweetest, most gentle and caring person that a 5-6 year old can meet in a school setting. For that matter, she seems so genuine when meeting with parents (I am one.), that I wanted to be in her class myself! She has an infectious smile that lights up the kindergarten room. Her little girl, boy and little dog, "art creations" will surely wind up on everyone's refrigerator doors for years to come. The tears that my daughter shed in the last few days are genuine and heart-felt. She will remember Mrs. Penny, forever. Thank you.
We love this school...My 9 year old 4th grader has been there since kindergaten, and loves to go to school, because the staff makes learning fun. Know I have a daughter just starting kindergarten this year, and her teacher, Mrs. McCleellan, goes over and beyound the job as a teacher, my daughter loves to go to school at Rogus too!
Absolutely amazing. The teachers are incredible. They're fair, highly trained, dedicated, amazing people who care so much about these kids. The principal of the kindergarten department picks and chooses whom she likes (she doesn't take much to young moms) so watch out for her. But luckily the teachers do not reflect her views. Highly recommend taking your kids here especially if they have learning disabilities - the teachers are amazing with kids like this as well. 5 Stars!
My daughter attended Rogus for full day kindergarten. The class size is very manageable (20-22) and the teacher had great command over her classroom without raising her voice. My daughter was motivated and challenged by the curriculum. The facilities are excellent-- nice library, gym, computer room with new apple computers. The school dedicates an entire wing to full day kindergarten, so there is little exposure to the 'big kids'. There is a bathroom in each room, so the class is not disrupted to take 'potty' breaks. Overall an excellent experience at an excellent school.
