Our school has a great K through 2. My children read better than other family members that attend other schools. However, when students hit 3rd grade, parents basically have to home school each night to assure that our kids get and retain what was taught that day. If a parent is 'too busy' or doesn't care, their children will not get everything needed in 3rd through 6th. However, much attention and funds are spent on the 'special ed' students with no results. Students that get extra help while at school continue all through their education requiring help to finish - not succeed. There are no more programs for the honor students resulting in kids that are bored.

They are teaching our children stuff that we didn't learn till late in high school even though they can't handle and comprehend it. The kids need music and art because its a beautiful part of life and many of our children would major in them if Galatia Schools would open them to our children.

They do not have a music program or an art program. My daughters 5th grade class last year had 31 students to 1 teacher who was fresh out of college and overwhelmed. My daughter has ADHD and I have to fight for every special need she has received. The kids are not retaining their spelling. The school needs to admit it is not helping these kids in any way and bus them to a larger school that has more to offer.
