No other school can compare to Geneseo. People may think differently but the charisma of this school is unforgettable. The loving and caring of a small town community make this high school one of the few places people remember from their youth. We have some of the best testing scores in the state and I greatly appreciate the success I have. I owe it much to the teachers of Geneseo High School. For people who don't believe this, you should check this place out for yourself. All students are involved in our athletic events. We are a very competitive community and believe in supporting everyone. Go Green Machine!

I also graduated from Geneseo HS, and have a hard time believing that your inability to test well in college is the direct result of something that happened as late as high school. All the fundamentals were highly emphasized at Geneseo HS when I was there, and even this many years later, I continue to be thankful for the solid education I received there. There is no substitute. I suggest that your testing issues are not school related, but more of a personal issue. Seek help.

I think it is a great school, it has its problems, but it is a very concerned community about our children and each other, I would give it at least an 8, there is no perfect school.

I graduated from JD Darnall in 2003 and have since gone on to college for a four year degree. After two years I am increasingly thankful for how well I was prepared for education at this level. Many of my classmates from different schools and backgrounds are not nearly as well prepared for higher education, and it was truely the school district that made a difference.

I enjoyed my years at Geneseo enormously. There is such a feeling of warmth and community in the small victorian town. However, minus the fabulous music training I received, and access to a multitude of extracurricular activities, the actual schooling left much to be desired. Optional finals are not the way to go. I struggled through my first semesters at college because I was never mentored in test taking. My math skills are a joke due to a district-wide math department that completely lacks any quality. The town can obviously not help its lack of diversity, but if there's anyway to work on that, a more multicultural atmosphere would prove very beneficial to the next generation of students! Overall, as great as Green Machine Football is, I think more emphasis should be put on educating America's youth and less on extracurriculars. The teachers care...let them do their job!!!
