Last year both of my kids went to Pheasant Ridge, and I love this school. My little one did two years of pre k at Pheasant Ridge wich I loved. He had a lot of problems with his speech and the speech teacher at Pheasant Ridge helped him so much I can now understand every word that comes out of my sons mouth when two years ago I could barely understand anything he said. I looked into St. Matthews, but what a rip off. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! I pay only $50.00 a child at Pheasant Ridge and there education has been wonderful. Yes, I do wish they had an all day Kindergarten, but hey, I can deal with that when its going to save me a ton of money. The Teachers are WONDERFUL! If you ever hav a prob. they are there to help. I love this school!

After attending an open house at St. Matthew in 2/09 in prep for the '09-10 school year and seeing how organized and focused the program was, I contacted Pheasant Ridge to discuss their curriculum for the whopping 2.5hrs of their barely half-day kindergarten class. My request was met with resistance. When I requested a meeting with one of the teachers, the woman on the phone said "oh, we don't do that." I explained that my child had been in daycare since she was 8wks old and I wanted to make sure she wouldn't be bored and questioned why they wouldn't meet. After providing no real information, she reluctantly took my name and number for a teacher to call me. No one called. The comments I've read here about how the administration doesn't want the parents involved support my experience. I'm thrilled my child is at St Matts.

I was once a student at Glen Hill for all of my years and I loved all of my teachers and all the students were wel behaved and I got along with all of them. We learned everything we needed to know and they were good on discipline but not too hard where you hated every teacher. They helped you realize what you did wrong. Also, on your birthday they would give you a book and treat you good. If I still lived in the area as an adult I would not want my child to go to any other school.

Pheasant Ridge is an good school with excellent teachers. What the school lacks is strong leadership and objectives. What the school provides is exceptional teachers and a rich student diversity.

I think the principal and vice principal are horrible and should'nt be at this school. I think they are the reason for some of the problems the school might have. During open house the principal sat in her office most of the night and did not walk around the school for more than 15 minutes. Maybe the better fit would be older children for the two of them. The teachers are wonderful though and my child has really loved all the teachers she has had. Classroom parties were not taken away by the urging of the PTO to the principal who wanted them gone. But the parties are now only 1/2 hour long and fail in comparison to how they were years before. All in all I think it's a good school, although it'd be even better with a wiser pick for a principal. The vice principal is a waste tax $'s.

The teachres in this school are absolutely excellent. They are caring, flexible, and up-to-date on teaching methods and resource use. However administrative inflexibility has reduced parental involvement to almost nil. (Room parties have been canceled for this year - '05/'06 because the administration simply didnt want them and forced out anyone who tried to get them back. The slope seems all downhill from here. I cant see how the teachers can hold out too terribly long without help from home. If I had the choice I'd send my child elsewhere.

All three of my kids have attended this school. This is a great school. The principal is very involved with the kids. They offer great activities to increase learning and encourage parent involvement. The teachers recognize students different weaknesses/strengths and utilize this knowledge to improve each individuals learning ability.
