I went to Grant Park High School as a Freshman, but transferred out before my sophomore year started. I realized how little I learned at GPHS. I am now suffering the consequences by taking three classes over again. The people at GPHS are also generally racist. Nearly everyone is white and that is the way they want it.

I graduated from GPHS and would not recommend this school or area to anyone intrested. I have done nothing but struggle in my first two years of college with teaching myself how to study, write papers, etc. I didn't even know what a thesis statement was until I went to college. I will never put my own children within 5 miles of Grant Park, let alone Grant Park high school.

as a GPHS grad (87) and now with two kids in school I could not think of a better school to attend, small schools are the best

Although GPHS may seem closed off when it comes to student opportunities, the school is growing. I have been attending for three years now, and in that short period of time, I have noticed many changes and developments. When considering a school, keep Grant Park in mind. It's close-knit, family-oriented, and much safer than some of the surrounding schools.

This school has a lot of work to do in meeting the needs of kids who are college bound. My daughter is now a Junior and is wanting to start working on her college application essays. Unfortunately, she has not had to right essays since her Freshman year! The administration really needs to take a good look at their program and get up to par with getting these kids ready for college.
