As a parent of a freshmen at this school, I have had quite a bit of interaction with the teachers, as well as the office staff. I don't know what happened with the previous parent's unfortunate experiencen with the office staff, but I have to say that they have been wonderful in all interactions with both my son and I. As far as the teaching staff.goes, I would say that with the exception of one or two teachers, they go ABOVE AND BEYOND for their students, and have.great communication with parents. I would rate the schooln a 4 3/4.

This high school is a fairly new facility, looks great, and has room to accommodate the ever growing community. However the main office staff leaves much to be desired. Most of the teaching staff is spot on and driven to helping students be prepared for college. From the moment a freshman walks in the door , until they make the long walk on stage to graduate, students have so many opportunities available to them to explore future career paths both academically, and via extra curricular activities. If the main office staff stopped treating parents as imbeciles this school would get a five star rating all around.

My daughter was very well prepared for college. They have many AP classes available for students to get some gen eds out of the way as well and other programs such as tech prep where students can get some college credits during their high school years as well. For the most part, all the teachers are phenomenal. Service there is great too.

Hampshire High School is a test based school their grading scale makes it impossible for a student to be prepared for college level classes. The administration is more concerned about the way the community and the parents see the scholl than they are educating our children.

Hampshire High was great when I was there. The teachers actually care about their students and get to know you on a personal level.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Illinois used the Prairie State Achievement Examination (PSAE) to test students in grade 11 in reading, math and science. The PSAE is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois.
