This school has improved throughout the years. The staff and parents are more committed than any other year. There are more after school programs that focus on reading, math, and writing also fine arts;including art club, chess club, knitting club, etc. The behavior has improved dramatically from the use of PBIS. This school is a great inspiration to other school's that were on AYP watch.

Very limited extra circular activities for kids. No math club or reading club. No after school help is provided.

Thhis school is a work in progress. This school has to deal with a lot more issues than most of the other schools have to. The focus of this school is the behavior issues that some parents ignore at home. This lack of parent involvement means that teachers have to be more involved in soving these behavior issues and this takes time away from students who don't have to deal with this issue.

I totally disagree with previous posting. The teachers at Parkwood Elementary are highly qualified individuals. The test scores are on the rise because of it. Yes, we are still in academic review but things wont change with a 1 year time period. It is up to all of us to improve this school. Parents need to be involved. As far as the new playground, It wasn't paid for by the district. P.T.O. and the parents of this school made it happen. I would challenge parents that are concerned, should ask themselves, 'what have you done lately' and if you can't come up with an answer, come on in. We can help you help us.

Understaffed teachers, large class sizes, poor test scores, spent money on new playground, school needs more parental involvement. No child left behind title 1, transfer your child if you can..
