My daughter is currently a student at the school&she loves all of the teachers&staff.she has been on the honor roll all 4 markin periods.It is a great school
The staff at Whittier is excellent and you can tell that they truly are concerned about the children. They really take time to make these kids succeed. I am however concerned about the school leader Roxie Thomas and would encourage parents to be more involved. Also I have concerns about her discipline procedures and her reasons for suspending children on a continual basis. All students should be given ample time in the classroom and suspenions is not how we should deal with troubled youth. Please parents and community members, be involved and ensure that your school administrators are actually there for education of the kids and not a big paycheck. It's time to take back our schools and our community. I challenge you to make a difference.
I myself am a former student and I have 2 daughters who currently attend Whittier. I enjoyed my time there and the teachers were very helpful. My daughters are also enjoying the school and I am very pleased with the education they are receiving.
