Just wondering who these supposed "elite" families are - never came across any that I would label as such.

This is an excellent school. We have grandchildren in 3 different elementary schools all in the suburbs. St. Patricia's is a 5 star school based on our experiences.

St. Patricia is an awesome school. I have 2 young children (1st and 3rd grade) in the school and each child is excelling in their classes. There is a strong sense of community, and parents who want to be involved are welcome to do so. There are no 'elite families' who run the school (maybe those who say that wouldn't be able to get along with anyone). I am involved in the school, and I am certainly not in an 'elite' family. The teachers are caring and invested in the education of the children. The children at St. Patricia are well prepared and disiplined. If you believe in catholic education and you want your child to have the best, than St. Patricia School is an investment you should make!! Carrie D.

I graduated from this school, and though it gave me a solid foundation to build upon (I am now married and have a great job!) I can say in all honesty that it is not what it used to be. My nieces still attend school here, and it is evident the academic standard has dropped very low. The school's enrollment rate has taken such a beating that there was talk and still is of closing the school down. (I work for the archdicese). And the other parents are right- the 'elite' families make it difficult to fit in and find a place within the community.

Excellent school. There are so many ways to get involved in and it really is just one big family. five stars hands down.

I have 2 children that attend St Patricia. Both of my children have scored a 99 on the standardized tera nova tests. My daughter has had poems and short stories published. She participated in accelerated 6th grade math and has a great attitude about volunteering in our local community. My son has exceded my expectations in all his course work. They have an excellent art program and has participated in many art fairs. The parents and teachers are wonderful to work with and I look forward to a great year. The teachers backrounds include doctorates and masters degrees!

Are there issues? Yes - too many to list. This school is run by certain parents - not the teachers or principal. I am glad I pulled my child out of this school. Public schools treat the children with more dignity and fairness and have more to offer. After paying for tuition, you still need to pay for tutors at this school. They are not prepared for the future. Better grades are achieved by cleaning a classroom, rather than a teacher taking time to explain. Run, don't walk away from this one.

I have two children currently attending St Patricia and I love the school. Are there issues? Sure, just like at any school.

I do not recommend this school for 2 major reasons: first, academically, they fall behind. There are about 3 good teachers in the school that actually make school exciting. Otherwise, their idea of teaching is having children rewrite/memorize textbooks, with 3-4 hours of homework daily. Enrollment is declining rapidly. Families are leaving for academic reasons And more importantly, the 2nd reason: too much parent involvement by a few 'elite' families.

My children have been attending St. Patricia's for the past 8 years. I feel so proud that are family is part of this school family. My three children are receiving an excellent education by very concerned and dedicated teachers and staff.Good morals, respect, values and spiritual teachings are incorporated into every classroom, everyday. We are very fortunate to have such a fine school in our neighborhood. Kathy K.
