This school has gone above and beyond for our family again and again. My daughter has had to go through a lot of medical treatment for a rare immune system disorder, and the school has been there for us every step of the way. Jai the school nurse is absolutely amazing. The special ed department has been beyond helpful, and we have had zero issues implementing anything we need into our IEPs. Solid education, proactive teachers and staff, and a warm and welcoming feel have left me adoring this school. I wish the class sizes could be smaller, but that would be the only complaint I would have. I highly recommend this school!

If your child is into sports and a good student they will do great here! However, if they do not fit the mold- forget it! Students seem to slip in between the cracks and are then pushed into quitting or going to an alternative school when they get to high school. This comes from a teacher (not at Highland), parent of a student currently attending, and a graduate of Highland.

Not an 'inclusive' school. Children with disabilities get shipped around to other communities. The busing is a terrible experience. Bullying is not addressed appropriately. They have 'Peacebuilders', which is better than nothing. It is an incentive program that many students know how to play, but it doesn't address true bullying situations, and the staff is not trained to address it either.
